  1. yep...my 95 legacy does the same...reads just about full when filled....but drops prematurely fast....... as nice and better as the new suby's are (I started owning them since 1980)....there seems to be quite a few issues with the newer models....the older ones were amazing
  2. My NAPA dealer uoted a 3 yr warrantyfor 150.00....not lifetime..?

  4. I love the screw adjusters for tightening the "fan" belts on the 95 Legacy I recently bought.....after 23 years driving subarus, it's a nice addition But, it seems one could easily overtighten them...anyoner have a feel for it?
  5. going to get it tested today I would call the dealer about the possible recall...but it has no subaru markings on it...I assume it is a rebuilt could get a rebuilt from a local shop for 130 + tax---but local junkyard has one from wreck for 60 thanks for the input so far
  6. I have a 95 legacy....I want to replace the timing belts...any info on this website that I can print to do the job? I am well versed on doing the Loyale type (even made my own adjusting tool to attach to my torque wrench) but not the legacy What else (besides the camshaft seals) should be replaced?w waterpump?

I have a 95 Legacy L...(no gauge)...wife had car and died....jumped it and it ran about 1 minute and died again....no lights (batt dead)---at time of jump starting,, it was then that she noticed the Batt llight on but also the "brake" light was on Batt is not too old and 850 CCA was towed home....I am assuming the alternator is bad...I think it may be overcharging charged battery ...didn't seem to take a good charge Started car and let it idle for an hour....both lights still on I put volt meter across batt terminals before starting car and was 13.4 V Started car and was 12.75V Just about same voltage when touching terminal on alt and ground(not sure that tells anything) After car was running an hour...Voltage was about 12.1 Anyone help ??..thanks in advance Bill

  9. I have a 95 Legacy doing the same in 4th and 5th...very annoying....come on out there!!!!!!!!!...no one knows the answer to this one?????????lol
  10. Years ago I bought a repair manual that was printed by John Muir publications....was for the 85-88 GL version. You could use your Haynes/chilton for fire starter---this was one great book...very clear and detailed. I think he had published VW books also. Anyone know if he/they are still in business?
