  1. what if this locker would destroy more then it would help ? anyone tried one yet ? so its just would work in theory. it must be tested in real life first. people only buy teslas in front these days lol
  2. great video. that music so relaxing at begining
  3. its cool video. and good presentation of long travel . so basicaly you must go really fast and crazy for long travel to work properly. does it help at slow offroad stuff too ? with more flex it should yh ?
  4. will check it out when back home. and i will use now this car as it is , and i will fix it some as much as i can for it to hold on . welding new metal even on top rust if its holds to good metal its still better then nothing i guess. why we cant just adapt , change something to fit struts from other cars that are similar but longer ? i saw in this forum people doing that for older subarus. like take similar strut from other car that is longer and if its not fit , make it fit. no ?
  5. yeah some troubles with manual. as much as i read about it you must be pretty careful with it. so anyway what kind of long travel forester using now ? same as yours ? i disconnected rear sway bar again for little better flex , as i have rear LSD that might hep me in some situations. even couple cm counts for getting grip. or inches haha. so where your videos ? you have some new ones ? they not ready yet ? i really liked your videos i watched them all i think about outback, before i bought mine even. can you give some advice what else i could do to my 2nd gen car , maybe something diy ? , long travel its too much costing for me. so those no go.
  6. thats cool job gain as allways. but why so many parts just braking on your car really ? do you using them too hardcore or what ?
  7. one way to find bad ignition wires is get electrocuted from them. as i did. i touched 2 wires with 2 hands and boom. so they are bad and i will change them. maybe my car will work better with new wires . i hope so. just everybody talking to get NGK wires , but what about other makers? are they all just bad ? like Tesla, Nipparts, Beru and some others. i would need order NGK wires and wait for them, or can get Tesla in shop and just use them for now. other maker wires not cheaper then NGK thou.
  8. amazing . so yours are better then standard jeep wrangler
  9. i thought there are more serious cracks in car or metal bend or smt. then good. im happy for your jump. well forester could test it for me so i would now how normal suspension would hold it . haha.and you are master of fixing things so forester in good hands. my car more rusty then that forester i guess. and forester its normal 2.0 NA and manual ? so its very weak . no wonder it cant keep up with your 3.0. forester 2.0 turbo would be different business there. man i so want to have 3.0 too. would be much better. i would go for my next car 3rd gen outback 3.0R with 250 hp. so where is video of that jump ? or at least make some short gif animation . you think that long travel suspension let you jump and land safely , or just more power. i mean first weak i bought car it was winter and i was flying in snow fields and catch some big bump , so my strut dislocated himself on top. then other time spring broke. would be interesting to see how your car landed on front wheels do they reach limit of that suspension and what parts got most hit.
  10. wow you jumped. so what you brake this time ? i wouldnt jump that with my car no way. shame forester couldn't jump that, would be interesting to see results.
  11. yeah thx . just doing my best in given situation. want to enjoy this car as much as i can. now trying to figure out P0420 code is it front or rear sensor or both, or neither of them. i run on LPG conversion too , and thats gives some higher temperature to engine, maybe its messes catakyst temperatures too. just car goes kinda slugish and sometimes lags on acceleration, sometimes feels lack of power. last forest check
  12. Pre vdc subaru awd systems are not that good, but with vdc you gettings kinda virtual lockers. Much better and lets you go slow and dont brake anything. But older 4eat can make 50/50 lock switch to lock center at 50/50 so you got at least decent split to help in some places. I dont think lockers would do much here to us. Still not great flex or articulation .so we must just adapt and find other ways of going forward. I saw videos eith forester with welded rear dif so its locked and center locked at 50/50 , still its not making any miracles. I found my vdc even with weaker engine making miracles enough for me. I know if i go faster i will brake something so i no do that. I found that my car is pretty good at crawling. as newer land cruisers go like tanks without any lockers just neat traction control and you good to go. similar subarus can go really far if done right with right tires and ground clearance. even with weak flex. i like often to put my car to limits of flex and see what it will do, how it would resolve situation. never get stuck yet anywere but i no do crazy things to see what will happen. this my daily driver and this how i go to work and back and everywhere else. i cant just go to bad roads and brake car for fun .
  13. so how much you find on trips that long travel helps you , or make your drive more comfy ? did you tried it more on offroad situations and you got out of them better because of long travel or just because subaru ? so with H6 engine you got there VDC yeah ?
  14. Yeh no doubt some your early videos tests of long travel looks impressive very much. But then other parts gets more usage too like cv axles do they not? So you need to custom make some parts as you did. As i understand its not just bolt in strut andbyou good to go ?
  15. i love my subaru even if its rusty and maybe in worse shape as yours. but i just think of all times your cars body cracked and splitted and something broke and stuff, that if you would have some jeep kinda car it would be just fine maybe. its shame we no have any options for some other kinda of struts. like higher ones . well we do have coilovers sure but thats for different reason. so your car is for going hard . but then for trips too. but you have all that cage stuff inside it . so its kinda no trip car , but then maybe it is for you. sometimes i say myself something and then i think what i just said . i mean i love jeep and would love test some jeep grand sherokke with solid axles offroad and it got decent traction control too. even without diff locks it goes good. but i love subaru for that is not 4x4 but i goes like one or similar. i will put more strenght to my car and will test it properly in time i think. still go fast on bad roads i wouldnt do that as you doing. and thats because of your struts i guess ?
  16. cool thx and what about just change struts in thses models to something else. like from other cars , can they be fitted there , or its not worth it. like i made lift 5cm , but with that i not gained any travel at all just ground clearance. thats why i need to go slow in offroad roads not to brake stuff. what if i find 5cm longer struts from other car that fits my car and use them then in full way. maybe i cant find . im just thinking. you guys here put lots money onto old cars without problems. like modify lots stuff to small subarus that not jeeps and not 4x4. so why try to make 4x4 from subaru ? if i would have money to modify my subaru so much with such expencive parts then i would had buy jeep or toyota from start. i mean like you take subaru that cost maybe $500 all car and put struts that cost maybe 1k. im sorry but that i dont understand.
  17. When i bought used ones from scrapyard they allways ask me side i need but aftermarket ones seems same . but they so shitty quality that i would never get them.used ones all the way.
  18. What about front and rear suspension on 2nd gen vs older that you build now? How you find that on modification? Does that caf have less possibilities or more? Like to make it longer travel or flex or some other mods on 2nd gen. Or you will just go for expencive struts on it again as you have now . and is that all worth it that extra travel you get
  19. So MOT passed. Fixed son Me rust here and there. It was long couple weeks now and i never worked so much on car before . some days it was like 8 hrs non stop. They saw my cut bumper and my lift spacers. They said : hey this bumper missing something doesnt it? Me: duno it was like that when i bought it. Haha . and lift they said as long as noting else is changed or shortened or modified in some ways its fine. So i passsed. Now car can have some new offroad led lights i always wanted in front and some extra light for rear when going reverse. Thats for safety. Cant see notin when reversing with that1 oem bulb there.
  20. always wanted to test it but never did. think they are cool if they work properly anytime you need. and not just after recharging them. my version of that is spare battery in trunk . ha.
  21. one more bad rusted place was in rear after that sprayed some cink on weld places and later bitumen spray stuff on top . still other side left to do
  22. yes outback is not best from subarus for those . Its long car it has long nose and long back bumper too. good thing they just plastic ones and not braking so easily. some lift and bigger tires helps there sure. so i put some 2'' spacers and 215/65 R16 tires . after that i have now about 10.2' / 26cm ground cleareance in middle. its little more in rear and little less in front were skid plate is . so after couple trips in forest and every time i got my front bumper dragged or its hooked on something and then wants to rip off situations, i thought of just cut half of it and put there at least some kind of skid plate. now all is much better for front. and still legal even on my streets. measured angle without skid plate looks cool too and i can do now that .. later tested it how it goes. and yes rear bumper now goes into way but somehow still manages. i saw people cut rear bumper some too that lower part but for most parts now i don't have any problem with places i go. i changed rear muffler and tried to put it as much deep inside that space as i could. so now its almost flat with bumper form. duno what more could be done with those outback models without going too much extreme and keeping as much original look of car as its possible. i guess as imprezas are shorter so they better for those angles and lift. and foresters some better too. now as i think of rear bumper its not so much problem that it hits something , but problem is that its shape like hook and its hooks unto anything, mostly it will dig all mud or dirt inside itself because its just open for digging in that part. if it would be closed there it wouldn't be a problem . it really feels like your rear bumper is this thing so what your angles ?
  23. ohh thats would be amazing to see what you could do with 2002 platform. because i want steal some your cool ideas maybe later . haha. did you allready checked and have plan with what could be done with 2nd gen outback to make it better . ? you mean you wanna do something like that ? i thought about it too as first but then it kinda didint fitted my idea. and its because all that its fixed and all your stuff its just underneath allways vs. if you have all those stuff in separate bags, you can just throw it on front seats when you need to sleep and your trunk is usable just for bed. and i almost can sit inside it. and with this stuff there is so small space there to even move while you there. in my trip i had small fridge and about 5,6 bags with everything i would need. all tools for car too. but because i had all just in bags i could just put them all in front car when i sleep , and whats good with that you can reach them still while you in bed.no need to go outside car. so this didnt worked for me . but it looks very cool yes and very organized. some people have even better ideas i would go for top one to put there extra stuff. but not furniture inside haha. but i bet it feels cosy inside
  24. so i like music in car so much. and i wanted to have subwoofer and amp in trunk but same time to make there bed for sleeping or just carry bags of potatoes or some wood or anything i would need. as my car is family car and its working car same time i need all space if i would need carry 5 people and all their bags incar . thats why sub box its on one side of car and amp is on other same place. and still i have place behind that amp for 1l oil, some bottle of extra coolant , some glass washer maybe or other bottles there. and something can put on top, all that to leave trunk space all free and usable. i really like how car looks with that front bumper now and some skid plate that is stronger then looks.
