  1. yeah 2400 is a bit too step for the tail end, i would say 1100 to 1500 at the dealer to get that fixed... do a search in here for torque bind, its when your transfer clutches arent working well and you get the shuddering when turning from a stand still... neglecting fixing that can lead to what happened to your car...
  2. not worried about the relays, switches and wires, thats the easy part.. i just rebuilt a hole wire harness for heated seats and they work great.... so i guess im going heated windshield, YAY!:banana:
  3. ... a rock from an incoming truck hit my windshield today on my way to work, the "meteor" hit the glass very hard... now i need to replace the windshield and i'm thinking about going heated... Does it really work on frosty and snowy days?
  4. hmm this has happened to me... your output drivershaft on the tail end of the trans sheared off from the clutch plates... now you will need to have the AWD serviced by replacing the outputshaft and while u are in there replace the clutch plates too... My Lego had no AWD when i bought it and when Tom at AllWellDrive.net went to service it, he found out that the hole output shaft was ripped off from the clutch plates... its a common thing when you neglect a torque bind...
  5. I used brackets that are bolted into the bumper right underneath the grille
  6. hey paul i was actually about to post one today, definitely one early october, i was thinking Sunday Oct 12th? but this time i am devoting our time to explore and go up to the tower and cool places
  7. yes they do have the white strip on them, i just had them installed with the white in. Wider tires would not effect your AWD, but mismatched tires will. then again i dont think 215s will fit on a outback, i have outback suspension on my Lego and very little space left between the sidewall and strut neo
  8. yeah pretty much what happened to that engine was that it threw a rod, hitting the block and making a huge hole.. it wasnt pretty... it was right when i was accelerating from a traffic light too, it was nasty and embarrassing, lol
  9. strange enough i did not have any warning noise or signs when it seized
  10. oh yeah i know where that place is, i live din belvidere for 6 months i lived in so is the guy taking care of the engine for you? meaning.... is he replacing it?
  11. i had a oil pan dented and some strange noise in the engine after it happened... then a few months down the road the engine seized... when i took the oil pan apart i came to a realization that when the oil pan got dented it pushed the oil pickup tube upwards pinching it, therefore not supplying enough oil to the engine and leading to the seize due to no lube... now how far up in NJ are u, i could take a look at it for ya
  12. i got them on my wagon last Jan... Awsome traction on the snow and ice.. i mean very good to the point that the abs didnt have to kick on... the only complain i have is that they are noisy... lots of road noise when going at 40 to 50.. EDIT: they are good offroad too
  13. ej18s are essentially the same as first gen ej22s, i' had both cars at the same time, the only difff is that the ej18 tps is diff and it does not have a knock sensor!! yeah u read it right no knock sensor, lol just go to any pepboys or advance (which i prefer) and ask for parts for that particular vehicle... now whos doing the job?
  14. so here are the pics and videos.... lots of fun, beautiful day out sorry guys i lost some pics and a few videos due to corruption of files Pinebarrens-Labor Day Weekend Pics
  15. Dennis clear your inbox i need to send u some info.. thanks Neo
  16. i replaced the inner tie rod on my legacy not too long ago, and i didnt need that special tool...
  17. Hey NJ, NY, CT, PA and MD we are going to the pine barrens this Sunday... PM me if you want to join us for an outing at the home of the Jersey Devil neo
  18. thanks guys! i'm gonna compound off as much as i can, then i can apply touch up pain to the deep parts of it... i am thinking about repainting it at the end of the yr i just dont want it to rust.. also my deductible is $1000 so its not even worth going through insurance, since maaco could repaint the whole car for 600 bucks... ugh it sucks cuz now i have an ugly deep scratch till i get the car repainted. And No i still have to find out who it is, and this friday i am staying up all night watching my car and seeing if anyone comes close.
  19. i would just twist the neck of the one that did it, the scratch is so deep that you can see the metal, it goes from fender to quarter panel... what can i do to repair this other than taking it to the bodyshop? i'm soo mad about this
