  1. ok here is the deal... i'm buying a low mileage ej22 for almost nothing.. the person is getting rid of it because its useless to him, so i have an extra motor.. now the plan: rebuild it entirely over the winter. then spring comes drop in the legacy. what am I looking for here: advices, tips and tricks on rebuilding an ej22 its my first complete motor rebuild... i am taking about "cracking" the block open and replacing it all, from bearings to connecting rods to pistons... thanks in advance Neo

  7. i'm assuming its an auto right? it will take you a few trans fluid changed to get the moisture out of the trans... i know some in here hates the lucas trans fix, but that was what saved my new tranny a couple of months back when i went through a deep puddle.. try that when u do change your trans fluid AGAIN you have to get it all up and running soon.. i'm planning a barrens meet in october lol
  8. wow it seems like brown wagons love to get flooded! lol something similar happened to me :lol: yes your abs computer is toasted u need a new one... its not a bad idea to have an extra ecu.. that one wont last long at all... its been more than a yr since i flooded my car.. just now that i am going to the JY next month to get a new carpet
  9. for the speedometer.. you will need a new VSS2, located at the bellhousing on the passenger side of the trans

  14. i test drove the outback with a cvt yesterday, and here is what i think... the car is nice but the tranny garbage! lol sorry i could never get used to it, it feels like it is slipping all the time, i even floored it and the thing didnt move, it only revved up... but overall i am very impressed with the vehicle.. i would take a 6spd manual base model in a heartbeat! i also testdrove the 3.6 legacy with the 5spd auto tranny.. that was diffrent i would def take that one.... just my thoughts after test driving them... i love the ground clearance on the outback i love the design and it is soo comfy.... FYI they went from coilpack to coil in each of the plugs and and and plastic intake manifold!!!!
  15. ohh yeah rob is coming? i was all focused on connies cooking lol just kidding rob :lol:
