  2. dose anyone know how abs works? do you know what tires kick in. Do you know there many different types of abs. you guy know why the pedel puses when the abs kicks in. when the abs is not actvated its like not having abs which is like your day to day driving. most abs in (newer cars) dont kick in tell one or more tires start to lock up, when it locks up the wheel senter actvateds the abs pump witch is like a on and off switch for your brakes,thats why your pedel puses. now the time that i have found when the abs dosent work right is when someone dose brakes and they go to bleed the brakes, and dose not do it right. if you have air in your abs pump its not going to work right. so you guys know the pump actvateds as little 2 tires at a time or all 4 tires. so if the front right tire locks up in mud snow , the abs will primerly actvated that front right and the left rear that way it keep the car where you aim. go to a gravel road hit your brakes and you will fill the abs pump kick and you can hear the pump to, get out and look at the gravel where your tires were then do the same with a car without abs and you can see how abs can help you. when you lock up your tires you will start to faster also when you lock up your tires you cant turn so this was a small run down of abs there is alot more to it it dose help
  3. sounds like you have got your flywheel hot in one spot most people call that a hot spot and that will cause chater

  7. i have done both of those im thanken a relay or something long those lines i work on cars all the time but some times you get that one problem that stumps you
  8. awd a/t the rear tires dont want to kick in. was in the snow you will sit there spining and when the rear tires deside kick in makes a nice loud clonk then they work or on a wet road it dose the same thing more gas you give it less noise it makes. is there a way to fix it or should i look for a new trans thanks dennis
  9. ok i got a 88 DL SPFI it had a broken timing belt, know big deal. put the timing belt on got it running. i put about 400 miles on it. i was in the drive way and it just died like you turned off the key, and now it wont start, but dose crank. all the fuses are good fusible links good the fuel pump is not pumping, i have know spark at the coil, i do have power at the coil. im shur im just over looking somthing just dont know what. any input would help thanks
  10. if you get the duralast gold there not bad just dont get there valucrap you wont be happy i get most of my parts at autozone im not ez on my cars and there clutch is holding up

  12. \ i run 4low in town and 4high on the highway i would run 2wd but with the diff lockup i cant turn so i keep it in 4wd
  13. i just welded my diff im running 29's if im in 4wd it drives good when i put it in 2wd it makes lots of noise and it dosent turn well. its backwards to me i would of thought it drive better in 2wd, but it dosent dennis

  15. thanks for in input i had no idea about the power steering i guess you learn something new each day. most thing on a car i could fix i work on cars every day but never messed with the xt6 befor. if there is anything eles on that that car to watch for let me know thanks dennis
  16. i was thalking to an guy the other day and he has an xt6 sitting in his shop. he was saying he wanted to sell it but dosent know how much he wants for it. its in good shape and runs and drives. what would be a good offer for it, price i was thanking $1200 i just dont want to afiend the guy input would be nice and what to look for on that car thanks dennis
  17. two thing first thing to make life ez drop the diff you cant pull them all the way off less you do at lease i cant sec thing is if you cant move the shaft then go get a can of k&n air filter oil spray it on and let it sit for an hour and it should slide off if not tap the shaft with a dead blow hammer hope it helped dennis
  18. that makes since is there anything i can to my ej18 to help give it a little more power with out spinding lot of money by the way its a 93 impreza its fun but it lacks in power
  19. if anything i got the ecu for that ej22 also i have a complet motor with an extra complet intake if that would help my swap thanks dennis
  20. is the ej18 and ej22 intakes the same? i want put my ej22 in my car with out changing my ej18 wiring or comp will there be much more power doing this i just dont want to wast my money or time thanks dennis
  21. cap and rotor if they are fine check your pickup in your distrabter, if your ecu dose read your distrabterfor your fuel,coil, and etc....
  22. i had the same problem with 84 wagon it ended up being the distributer there a magnet in the distributer that got cracked and it took me a week to figger that out the fuel pump wasint pumping and a few other thing working right but had a distributer sitting around and put it in then it was fine
