A.A. made me a EA81 lift for my 84 hatch. I have the front installed and the back will be arriving later this week. I will let you know of the results. The front looks good and it is a 4" inch lift. Pics are soon to come.

I bought an oil pump seal kit for my EA81. I know where the little o-ring, the gasket and the medium sized o-ring go. But where in the hell does the really big o-ring go. There wasn't one on there when I took it off. I have attached a pick of the seal kit and the ones circled in green are the ones I know and the one circled in red I am clueless. Is this just an extra part or am I just confused??? Any help is appreciated. oil pump seal kit.bmp

Yo go with the turbo. I live in New Mexico and go snowboarding a lot in the winter in CO and cruise all over Colorado. Over mountain passes and on the highways. I have a Forester XT, which has the a 2.5 turbo and it screams. I think the Forester was actually designed for the mountains. It runs great in all elevations. Of course it does have a STI setup now, but before I put that on it it was still a hell of a Subaru. I would go with the turbo for sure. Especially in CO. Peace

Is it D/R 4WD?? If so don't do it. There are much better things to do to a Subaru. If it is just a S/R 4WD then it would almost be ok. But why not just do some engine work with the money you would put torwards spinners. Its Subaru not an Escalade. Hook it up rally style and take it off road all the time. Woo hoo!!!!! :headbang:

A Forester XT with low range 4 wheel drive a 3 inch lift and larger tires (yea right) or a nice 80s GL hatchback 4x4 with dual range and a lift.

That is odd how close the tire comes to the body in the pic. There is really no where to cut to create more clearance. With the wagon it looks like you will have to cut into the door area possibly.I am not sure though. I would have to see it in person. I have a hatchback so it will be easier for me to create more clearance cuz there is not a door in the way. That looks really awesome!!!! Sweet!!!!! :headbang:

I have another guy that is interested in some black wheels. I just want to verify one thing. Will these rims fit on a 86 GL with no lift?? Is a lift required to use these rims???
