  1. The whole cap is an electro magnet. the valve never is fully open or fully closed, it is always rotating open or closed, just how fast that is done is controlled by the ECU, and that electro magnet. I can pretty much guarantee you that vacuum is not sucking the valve closed. With the valve off the car, & cap still on, the valve is pretty much stuck half way open/closed. This is done by electro magnet top.
  2. I don't know the answer, but you may want to look over at the svx network http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/
  3. yeah, you can go to the dealer, give them your vin and cut you a new key
  4. yeah.....iac valve is not controlled or affected by vacuum. it's solely controlled by the ECU. I can watch the duty % of the IAC valve on my select monitor.....everythings handled by the ecu.
  5. please refer to the links posted by alias, and utilize the search engine. thanks
  6. unless the trans is that different, there should be a pan gasket......
  7. don't touch the throttle stop screw......clean the IAC valve.....if you still have problems, check the IAC valve

  10. I'd suggest http://www.cvaxles.com Just replaced my axles, and they are very good....they do rally cars as well as overseas work. If you get your axles there, ask them to include new roll pins and axle nuts....they normally don't include unless you ask. I took the two bolts off for the struts......My alignment may be off slightly, but I scribed the spindle so it's very damn close to where it was. I started doing the ball joint method and new it was going to be a major pain in the butt.
  11. I'm pretty sure the TT's were only available as japanese imports.....
  12. nope, no change in power plants. There were misc sensors/parts that were updated throughout the 90-94 legacy model years, but nothing new
  13. Worked great. No side effects that I could see other then a clean engine. You saw the pics of the intake & heads when I did my injectors didn't you? I was really quite amazed at how clean it was down in and around the heads. Even on the valves, it was very clean considering the type of mileage that is on my car.
  14. yeah check o-rings and retrofitting does work. I am pretty sure I posted instructions on retrofitting my legacy....doing a search should show something.
  15. You can probably just find the connector output for the fuel pump, find out which one is the temp sensor, and then back probe it, and or check to see if it's working properly.
  16. I guess the first thing that needs to be done is determine where the sensor is? Anyone absolutely sure where it is?
  17. yeah the manuals will probably have less issues then the autos.....and yes the ecvt only came on the justy's
  18. To fit a WRX or GC body style impreza muffler on, it will require some welding and tweaking. A "good" muffler shop should be able to make it fit perfect.....however the guy who did mine was tool.....so the fit isn't perfect. more info & pics here http://www.bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=640&highlight=impreza+muffler
  19. the 90-94 legacies are probably some of the best ones out there. You can drive them and they'll go forever. There are certain maintenance issues you should do when they get up in mileage, but it's not too big a deal.
