  1. The ticking may be related to the valve lash adjusters. I don't know if the valve lash adjusters are hydraulic in those engines or solid. If they're hydraulic they should adjust automatically, however they can sometimes get gunk in them if the oil wasn't changed regularly. Do you know what brand & weight oil is in the engine? Have you checked or changed the oil since buying it?
  2. I'm going to move your thread to the new gen forum where it will likely get some more views. I'm assuming you're looking for someone to take it to around Marion, IN?
  3. Welcome to the USMB! Looks like you're already putting that roof rack to good use.
  4. Welcome to the USMB! It sounds like you had a pretty fun Leone, and it looks like you have a pretty good new project as well.
  5. Welcome to the USMB! Glad you've found the information helpful
  6. Welcome to the USMB! I think rust is probably going to be its biggest enemy living in PA. I suggest making sure to spray the under carrage and wheel wells down with the hose every month or couple weeks in the winter time.
  7. Taza, Welcome to the USMB! Sounds like you've had a good fleet of Subarus over the past five years
  8. It's very true! I think I'm going to steal that for facebook
  9. Welcome to the USMB. Sounds like you're getting your hands dirty with a new project
  10. You may want to check out the LED again to see what it's doing.
  11. Welcome to the USMB. I would see if you can get any maintenance records with the mileage being what it is. You should not have a vibration with the AWD system when you turn the wheel. I would check the CV axles to see if the boots are torn. Is it an automatic or manual transmission? If you don't get a lot of responses you may also want to post in the new gen forum.
  12. With the amount of smoke that it sounds like came out, I'd recommend doing a compression test to get a pulse on how the engine's health is doing. Depending on what you find, that may help you determine what is the problem. When you did the swap, did you hook up the check engine light? If so, have you tried to see if any codes are stored in the ECU?
  13. Welcome to the USMB! As for the GL, do you hear the same noise in the transmission if you depress the clutch pedal? Does it make the same sound in all gears? You may want to create a separate post in the 80's Subaru forum if you don't get much feedback here.
  14. Welcome to the USMB and great to hear you are loving the XV!
  15. Jeszek, I enjoy reading your posts and everything you've done with this Kia. Keep up the good work
  16. Terry, Welcome to the USMB! That's quite a testament for the forester. Glad to hear you were alright.
  17. Welcome to the USMB. Yeah I agree...everything looks pretty good other than those panels. Short of cutting out the rust and putting new custom panels in there, I'm not sure what to tell you. You may want to also post over in the 80's section to see if others have any thoughts.
