I am thinking to do a transmission pan drop and replace the filter and o ring. I went to the local dealer to buy the pan gaskey, transmission filter and o ring, but the parts guy told me there is no pan gasket for this transmission, I will have to use liquid gasket comes from a tube. Is this sound right? Anyone done this before? Thanks

I finally got the water pump off my 91 Loyale ( it was leaking bad) Thanks for all your help. Now what brand should I buy? Autozone,NAPA, Advanced autoparts, or carquest? OEM maybe? but they are usually on the high side? Anyone has good experience with aftermarket water pump? Thanks again!!!

I am in the same process of replacing the water pump. It looks like not only the ac compressor need to be removed, but the timing covers as well( crank pulley need to be remove in order to remove timing cover ) By doing all above to just take 2 water pump bolts off under the timing cover( total of 5 bolts for water pump ). Major pains:banghead: Anyone here can suggest a easier way to do this? Thanks

I have this problem for a while now, When the car first started in the moring, it will not idle, you have to add a little pressure on the gas pedal, after a few mins then it will idle, but once I drive off, the engine will hesitation. Also got check engine light( code 24 ) But all this go away when engine is warm. Any advice??? 91 Loyale 4X4 5 speed

The 91 loyale starts to develop some coolant leaks. It seems from lower engine timing cover, below the water pump. It drips pretty bad! What gives? Water pump or its seals? any other possiblities? If it is water pump, how hard is it to replace? Can someone provide me with instructions. Thanks a lot!

It is about time to replace the brake pads for my 91 loyale. What do you guys suggest? Any specific brand for better braking power? Any input? Thanks

I just got the 91 loyale 4WD with SPFI. I ordered the repair manual but it wo'nt get to me until next week. The engine check light is on and it is showing code 24 air control valve or circuit. The idle is about 1200 RPM and I can not make it go down to 700 RPM even I turn the idle screw all the way counter clockwise. How do you test the air control valve motor to see if it is good? How do I know if the air control valve motor is getting power??? I have a digital multi-meter. Thanks a lot!!!
