Ddad I hope you will resolve all the problems. BTW, where did you get that engine from? I am trying to locate a transmission for the same car. Also you mentioned you own a exhaust shop, where is it located at? I indeed need some exhaust work, any discount for board member? I am in St. Charles. Thanks

I took the solenoid off and called 1stsubaru for a new replacement. But the parts guy told me the valve comes with 2 gaskets on each side of the plate. The problem is that I do not have any plate and the solenoid looks different from the one on the manual. Mine looks like almost oval sharp with round solenoid with 2 wires. The one on the manual looks like its almost square sharp with only 1 wire.???? Please help 95 Legacy AWD auto

Hello Dave and everyone When you say the voltage wasnt changing, you mean there was a short somewhere? Where did your short located at? I am having the same problem( Duty C solenoid, code 24) and about to pull everything off. Mainly I am looking for a common location where the wiring maybe weak. Thanks

Hello everyone I have a regular 95 legacy wagon. Went to the local junk yard and found this 96 legacy outback wagon. My questions are what are the major differences btw the two? Did the outback get better suspensions, brakes? If I want to upgrade to the outback specification, what parts do I need? Any suggestions??? Thanks a lot!

Whats the purpose of the fusible link in the engine fuse compartment? It looks just like a bigger size of eletrical wire. Mine was taped by eletrical tape. I opened it up and found out it was solder together. Not original. I wonder if the previous owner jump start the car wrong or connect the battery poles wrong way. Can someone tell me what cause the fusible link to burn up? BTW... went to the junk yard and got one from 93 legacy Thanks 95 Legacy AWD

Hello everyone To make long story short, the a/c belt pulley worked its way loose and somehow the a/c belt cut and chewed thru the timing belt cover( the big piece in the middle ) I tried to search to see if the 90 to 94 legacy timing belt cover will fit my 95 legacy, but came up with nothing. Can anyone help? Will try to go to local junk yard tomorrow, but I doubt the junk yard will have 95 legacy laying around. Thanks for the help! 95 legacy wagon AWD

Thanks guys I tried to 15 amp fuse in, but still get the torque binding and the flash oil temp light at every startup. I am going to try and flush the trany using seafoam, and hopefully that will clear all the gunk in the duty c solenoid. Thanks again BTW What parts do I need to get to the solenoid? Exhaust gaskets? Part #??

Hello everyone I got the code from ECU 24. The duty c solenoid.( Torque binding ) I did search the forum and knew that the problem can be at ECU( posted by patcal ) ,wiring harness as well, and the solenoid itself My questions are 1) Can I do a trany flush and chemically clean the internal parts using lubeguard trany flush kit? Will that help duty c solenoid to function again? 2) If the above method will not work, what parts do I need to replace the duty c solenoid? In other words, what parts do I need to order from Subaruparts to finish the job? 3) How long will the job take? Any special tool required? Thanks a lot!!! 95 Legacy wagon auto AWD

91 Loyale overheat only with AC on???
pearlm30 replied to pearlm30's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
When it idles with AC on, it soon gets up to red pretty fast( does the fan suppose to come on? I did not hear any fan), if I drive the car a little on highway, the temp will come down a little, but still in upper range. Thanks again -
When I don't use the AC, the temp gauge is about 1/3, with AC, it shoots up to Red. Anyone please help Thanks 91 loyale wagon 4wd 5 speed with 160,xxx miles

I am in the process of doing the timing belt job on my 93 Impreza EJ18. I would like to replace all the seals and o rings. Questions 1) How do I remove cam shaft? I read the manual and it says I need a cam shaft holder tool? 2) Do I need to use sealant around oil pump o ring? Or just the new o ring will be fine? 3) How do I remove the crankshaft, camshaft seals without damage anythings? Can I use a flat screw driver? 4) How do I align all the marks? Don't really want to spend all day turning the crankshaft. Thanks a lot!!!

Hello everyone I am planning doing the timing belt job for my 93 Impreza auto AWD. I searched the message board and found most of the detailed write ups are for 2.2 legacy. My questions are 1)What are the differences btw these 2 engines? 2)The job will be closed enough, so I can follow the instructions provided by legacy777 and other members? 3)Any other advices will be appreciated!!!??? Thanks a lot

Can anyone let me know any other gaskets/o ring need to be replaced? 93 impreza auto awd with 113,xxx miles Thanks a lot!!!

I also have some bad leak that is all over at the engine end that drips on the exhaust. I have replaced the valve cover seals, oil fill tube seals, but did not replace the cam seals. Where is this cam seal? Is this hard to do? What is the part # for this cam seal? Thanks 93 Impreza auto AWD 112,xxx miles
