  2. Man some times i wish i was over in perth to go wheelin with you all not up here in townsville where im the only lifted soob in town that goes and gets dirty.
  3. Why not pull the center out, weld it then refit it? saves on seals.
  4. ha ha yea im trying but i dont have a whole lot of smarts i was told once so ill wait till u do it and see wat you come up with.
  5. yea. i would stop short of killing them cos they hav to go through the pain i went through!!! im guessing that they drove it to where it was through the scrub thrashed it till it ran out of petrol 1/2 a tank, pushed it unda the tree and lit it up.
  6. fair enough fair enough does it have somethin to do with your post on old gen???
  7. Na thats a big hole at the top. (i gotta learn to walk tracks i cant see up) i mmagin a hole as round as you bonnet and sholder deep.
  8. ooo secreasy hay must be good. since i got the new car with the 2" lift i have found 2 good playgrounds, 1 near my parents place (the burdekin river) and the other looks like an old quary just north of town theres always lifted patrols, crusers and other toys there not to mention bikes. there was a heap of bikes watchen me and none of them could believe it was a soobie up climbin them hills they were   and i was :headbang:
  9. i was going to replace it with one out of a late model outback/liberty then make up a bracket to mount it to the torsion bar housing. i had drawn up plans but shelved them when my old brat got stolen. Rwd plays havoc on that mount. ps we are talking about the front mount on thr rear diff arnt we?
  10. Got a pick of some trouble i got into in my new car.
  11. yea i thought it was good and all my mates got a laugh out of it too so i got thoes plates remade as i had to replace the front one because the paint had flaked off. i went and had a look at my old ute where it was i nearly cried when i saw it...
  12. Hay man nice job on that diff i dont think its breakin any time soon:grin: thats my next mod actualy im half way through getin another diff to weld up before i pull mine. then i just gotta get some bigger tyres and get that ej22 in.
  13. Yea thats not a standard bullbar. i believe it was built by the previous owner. yea i dont think ill do the awd swap. i hav access to a 5sp d/r to go behind the ej22 i am biilding at the moment. plus i am hopeing to add another 2 to 4 inches to the lift and some 31's or 33's. i got a phone call yesterday too. my old ute was found in a creek burnt out:eek: , oh well at least i know where it is...
  14. oh well i thought they were canvas but yea i spose leather would make more sense
  15. oh tru thats weird yea the liberty, outback, impreza and forester all came out with the ej series liberty and outback had the ej22 the imp and forester only had the ej20. the forester and outback didnt come out till 97 over here and the imp in 94 and liberty in 89 imprity sure thats over here any way the ea 81 style was 82 to 94 over here i believe and the ea 82 was about the same i believe. correct me if im wrong someone.
  16. Im into off road racing buggies and 4x4's an as a scruitneer for cams i get a good look at all the different vehicles and most of not all buggies use canvas for their cv boots, now this got me thinking why cant/dont we use canvas instead of the rubber? Unfortunatly i have no pics to explain but im sure all if not most of you get the picture
  17. Ha Ha yea i dont plan on it gettin stolen this ones getin a full immobliser alarm including pin code key pad as part of the ej convert same immobliser/alarm used in the wrx and sti here in aus. what type of body style did you get in the 90's? single head light DL style? or none at all?
  18. i should tell youes to that there is a vid on the way as my mate just bought a sweet rump roast digital vid camera. now all i have to do is a bit more wheelin then edit and get some1 to host it. also lookin into doin a website like Phizana has done.
  19. Thanks man i love it for a car that has 230,000km on the odometer it's only rust is surface and a spot under the windscreen mould and along the front of the tray all easy to fix thank god. The forester box has different ratios and will bolt straight up to the ej motor due to the different bellhousing. the ej box will need an adaptor. the ratios for the forester are worse for low range, designed more for hi-way use. however scorpian subaru in brisbane sell lower range gear sets for thes boxes. the other plus side is that i can run the ej rear diff which has solid stub axles unlike the ea series rear diffs, that way i should never snap a stub axle:rolleyes:
  20. Well i havent been around the board much since my brumby/brat got stolen 5 months ago but now im back and with a new and much brtter ride My new set of wheels is a 1990 subaru brumby/brat:banana: it has a 2" lift, custom bull bar, tow bar and full size 14" wheels (195-70R14)not sure what that works out to. the insurance finaly decided to pay out 5 months later so most of that will be going to mum as she technically owned the last 1 but some of it and my income tax return from last year will be going into rebuilding the ej22 out of my liberty/legacy i bought for $300 a few months back and droping it in the hole that will be left buy pulling out the ea81 thats in there now hehe:grin: then i need to find a 5sp d/r or forester box and lsd, maybe lifting it another inch in the front, it just dosnt look tall enough lol anyway no doubt you will be asking for picks so here are some for your enjoyment with more to come. Below you can see, to the best of my knowledge, the longest bridge in australia and possibly the world NOT including aproches, THE BURDEKIN RIVER BRIDGE It spans across the width of my new play ground:grin:
  21. Probably because you generaly do need to trim to fit everything properly
  22. Man you can fit any size speaker you want it just depends how much u want to mod the door trims etc. i had 6" splitters and 6x9's in the front doors of my old brumby. just to day i am apout to fit a new i-pod ready alpine headunit to my new brumby. i think there is an article in the usrm? i know there is one in phizanas web site www.offroadingsubarus.com
  23. Hay man looks sweet i would so love a hatch they are as rare as over here:slobber:
  24. when we had the daewoo dealership at key we had a big bunch of them that snaped belts a 80,000km ish and the recomended interville is 100,000k and they are an interference engine (head off ) but that daewoo they are a *************** box and thats why ill never buy one soz got a bit off topic at the end i always do belts at the recomended times
  25. that damage is soft did you see the picks of my brat when i hit a deer doin 90 - 100km/h? i wish that was all the damage i did then all that work to fix it and it got stolen:horse: soz
