Donor vehicle for incline/angle gauge?
If you got one with the "4wd" light instead of the altimeter, it would be wicked easy to hook it up to your 4wd dash light. Would look super clean too. You could also hook up the background lights on the inclinometer to dash lights when you turn on your lights. Everything would look super good but you have to shell out $$$$ for a decent inclinometer . . .

Donor vehicle for incline/angle gauge?
Cheapest place to get 'em would probably be the JY. I remember watching a couple on ebay get up to like $100+ a few months back. They are wicked cool and definitly worth looking for if you can get a good deal.

Any trick to getting steel wheels off?
I plan on putting my 15 pugs (w/ Nokian Hakkapaliittas (yay)) on sometime soon but I am pretty sure the stock steel wheels have rusted on and might take some work to get off. Is there an easy way to get stubborn wheels off besides the BFH and some powerful swings? If not, whats the easiest way to get 'em off with a BFH? I imagine you wouldn't want to be directly hitting the wheel so maybe use a peice of wood to pound on? What do you guys do????

Thursday afternoon in the Juncyard.
The first pic is my new desktop. I think this is the 3rd or 4th of Singletrack's pics I have used for backgrounds, I think he has some of the best pics here on USMB. Good work!!!

84 crash... kinda
Just curious, but how does a wheel come off?? Forget to tighten lug nuts? It always makes me nervous when I hear of people whose wheels randomly roll off and I start thinkin' about what would happen if one of my wheels came off . . .

lift/mods/tires for my Soob. I missed the FAQ. . .
What size you runnin'?? Any idea of tire diameter?

So how much difference can you have with tread depth??
I just looked at the tires that are on there now and the back has way more tread than the front so I imagine it can't be messing things up too much. I did find a guy selling a set of Nokian Hakkapaliitas w/ 7'000 miles for $250. I'm not sure if I am going to get them yet, but they are a possibility.

So how much difference can you have with tread depth??
I am in the market for some snow tires, and I am trying to find a relatively cheap (as in not buying a $400 set from the store), mildly used or like new set. Anyone have any idea what tread difference I can have between the front and rear tires without putting too much strain on tranny, diff etc.?? I was thinking like 3 or 4/32nds or less. Anyone have a more accurate figure? Should I even bother trying to match treads or just bite the bullet and cough up the $$?

Picked up my 15" pugs and some nasty lugs (watchout 56k)
I was considaring a lift, but I'm not sure I want to put that much money into it when it will probably rust away in a couple of years. Also, I don't rrreeaaallllyyy need one, it would be nice to have a lifted wagon but not really need and I don't have d/r 4wd so it would kinda be pointless. About those tires, they are pretty sad right now but I'm going to hopefully get some nice snow tires soonish.

Picked up my 15" pugs and some nasty lugs (watchout 56k)
I'm still actively searching for some extra lugs. If I can't find any I guess I'll have to clean those ones up. Actually, now that I look at them, some are nasty but most just have bad surface rust. Oh well, we'll see how they do once they are cleaned up. Here's a pic if the new wheels: I need to pump that bad boy up! Wow, I really need to get rid of those reflective decals, they show up in ALL of my pictures!!

Picked up my 15" pugs and some nasty lugs (watchout 56k)
Haha, guess its time to dig out the "pursuader". I imagine I should use like a peice of wood instead of hitting the tire or wheel directly with the BFH?

ANybody know who this is? West Seattle. . .
Man, that is a ssweeetttt wagon!! Was that a stock color?? I like! Diggin' the rack and the lights too. NICE!

Picked up my 15" pugs and some nasty lugs (watchout 56k)
Ya, I actually just PM'ed acouple people to see if they could score some lugs. Thanks for the offer though. I'll pm you if all the others fall through. Anyone have any ideas about that?

Picked up my 15" pugs and some nasty lugs (watchout 56k)
Thanks Wombat, I'll take a ride down to the local shop this weekend and see what they have. Anyways, I went to go try out the new "shoes" today. I got the first stock wheel off no problem, put the Pug on no problem. Came to the rear right wheel, jacked it, took off lugs etc. etc. but the stupid wheel was still firmly attached (from rust I would imagine). I even went as far as easing the car down off the jack with no lugs on the rear wheel and it still didnt pop off. I am at a loss as to how to get it off but I am sure that it is probably a common problem and someone has a simple solution.

Picked up my 15" pugs and some nasty lugs (watchout 56k)
On the shorter one (and all of them for that matter), the washer does not appear to spin freely. Should it? The guy I got these off of said he took them straight off his 1989 505.

Picked up my 15" pugs and some nasty lugs (watchout 56k)
And, I just found out that the shortest lug in those pictures is actually the stock Pug lug. I have no clue where the longer ones came from, but it is wierd that they're longer. Everyone else I have talked to says they have the shorted of the Pug lugs, wierd . . .

Picked up my 15" pugs and some nasty lugs (watchout 56k)
I am pretty sure that most stores won't carry any lugs even close to what I need to use on 'em. I'll double check though. I did have a thread going a short time ago about some lugs I had found at on online store that I thought would work with alloys. I found out they do work with the 14" alloys, but not the 15" alloys. Oh well, the seach continues.

Picked up my 15" pugs and some nasty lugs (watchout 56k)
Alright, so I just picked up my set of 15" alloys. They were $120 for the set of four, all have decent rubber on them but 3 different kinds of tires so they are of no use to me. Anyways, the wheels look awesome!! Along with the wheels I got the 16 special lugs but they are in differing degrees of nasty-ness. I have about 8 lugs that are in nice condition and are good enough to use. The others are pretty rusty and I don't know if I should use them for now or try to find some others. Here's acouple of em: And this little bugger seems to be a shorter version of the rest. Anyone know if is alright to use if it fits? It is pretty nasty though . . .

Will these Lugs fit on Pug rims?
Ya, I just picked up a set of 4 15" alloys in great shape with all 16 lugs and summer shoes for $120. I did call that place in VT like a month and asked how much it would be if I bought from them, the guy said the wheels were $50 a peice, lugs were $10 a peice and I would have to pay shipping. What a crook!!
-
Will these Lugs fit on Pug rims?
Ya, it would be super sick if they worked!!! I would much rather pay $0.60 a lug instead of $10 a lug!! (Pug wrecking yard in VT wanted $10 A LUG!!) I would even be willing to buy one and see if it worked. It would definitly be worth it.

Will these Lugs fit on Pug rims?
Would these lugs work with the Pug alloys? I am looking for some replacements for acouple rusty alloy lugs I have .
