  1. Haynes doesn't make an Impreza manual I'm afraid. Get the Legacy one for the 2.2/2.5 motor and it will be pretty helpful to you.
  2. You can buy aftermarket power door lock actuators for about $20 each. I'd think I'd go brand-new on a component like this... if you're going to go through the trouble of doing it, you should do it to last IMHO.
  3. You should just need to replace the air strut- if the others are holding, it shouldn't be the compressor. It may be more economical to find a set of used conventional springs, struts, and strut tops and convert the suspension. That air suspension is just going to keep breaking over the coming years.
  4. There's some *really* good things showing up on eBay this week, including this gem: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2431248027&category=33709 Someone has to need this :-). I picked up a nearly new ignition lock and two door cylinders for $20 shipped today, about 10 minutes after I submitted an order to SOA for a new ($138 at my discount) ignition lock and switch... good thing I can return it !
  5. It might at that- at least it should eliminate the 'center diff' as a problem.
  6. I'm willing to check anything if people provide me with part #'s. Get them and post them here and I'll be glad to check them :-D
  7. Try toothpaste and a bit of water (yes, I'm serious )
  8. The rear inspection cover often loosens up and leaks, and it would end up leaking out right where the tranny and engine meet. That, and rear cam seals often leak, causing oil to appear in much the same area.
  9. Being that it's an auto, you should have the tranny extension and clutch plates inspected. There are a few too many 4EAT Outbacks coming through the shop here with blown clutches in what amounts to the center diff in the 4EAT's, and it involves replacing the extension housing itself- fairly expensive if you don't get it covered under warranty.
  10. Nope- I work for Subaru, and I've checked pretty much every 'accessory' part and they are no longer available.
  11. That's exactly what I replaced . I'd much rather replace a $5 switch every once in awhile than ghetto rig the fans
  12. I replaced one tonight- $5 and 10 minutes later, the fan works again .
