  1. You guys nailed it.......if only I had read your solutions in time. Replaced thermostat, same situation. Took off upper hose and dry as bone. So decided to fill from upper hose......worked perfectly. Never had to do that before. Thanks for the tips.
  2. No on the hose. Cant imagine a clog, will tear apart and find out.
  3. Ok, so I switched out my old leaky radiator which did not overheat for a brand new one from rock auto.....and now I overheat! The coolant is not circulating through the system. Motor heats / overheats yet heater does not blow hot. I know coolant is not circulating because there is no coolant in upper hose when I take it off the engine. I have tried to bleed the system but llevel does not go down when I fill radiator and I know the system is not full because I drained about 1.5 gallons of coolant before I took the old one out and the new one will only take about 1/2 gal. I have replaced several radiators on gl /beats and never had this problem. Suggestions? I should have let the old bugger alone.
  4. Hey gd, good to hear from you. How much does your shop charge for the work?
  5. Ok, I can find flex hose or dual diameter, but I cannot find both in the same hose. Anyone have part #'s or know who carries these? Thanks
  6. Radiator arrived yesterday. Going to search for hoses today. Are they hard to find?
  7. Need to do something with my 84 GL EJ swap radiator. Recore is $100, reman from internet is $130. Any opinions either way? If I do order new from internet, should I stick w/ GL or go with EJ22 radiator?
  8. Poop, I'm in for one Large, I think a manilla/eggshell would look great.
  9. I need the drivers side turn signal unit if you have one. Let me know. thanks
  10. You may ditch the PTC and keep the Subaru.
  11. Do you have a way to attach a subaru engine to a velvet drive transmission? I always thought a subaru motor would be more efficient than my ford V8.
  12. I do believe the harness is from an automatic. How did you remedy similar in past?
  13. Just got around to trying to figure out the VSS problem. So, I ran a wire from ECU B58 11, (dark green wire )to VSS wire (yellow/red) in speedo cluster and I get no change. Idle doesn't change at all. I tapped into vss wire, and then cut vss wire and wired into engine side (rather than cluster side). I even unplugged the VSS plug while engine was running and no change in idle. My problem is that engine idles @ 2000 when I am at dead stop. Any suggestions??
  14. Call Dennis 503.208.0627. He is a mobile mechanic out of Canby and helped me with my swap, including the wire harness.
  15. I knew you couldn't leave it alone. I will have to stop by and see what you have in the works.
  16. Sure, rub it in. The micro run video looked like a blast. Someday I will have a 360, then I can participate.
  17. I think the SVX still looks contemporary after19 years. Good looking car, you bought in WA? Check out SVX.net if you haven't already.
  18. Ditto: Never needed a puller; remove nut, grab at 3 and 9 and give a good pull.
  19. Missed it this year, was it yesterday?
  20. Yes I do. Would love to see a turbo charged sleeper.
  21. Cool coupe, Poop. Keeping original drivetrain, or upgrading to AWD/WRX motor?????
