  1. you know what I think I may have found the problem... i took the rocker cover off? and it threw a rocker arm.. so I pulled it apart and fixed it... put it back together and it threw another one...so.. I'm thinking the valves are not opening correctly due to a: Camshaft shot/loose... b: bad HLA's C: Bad valve springs... not bringing the valve up far enough.. anyway.. going to do a head swap tommorrow and give that a try... then if that doesn't work... anyone got a ea82t with an "easy Fix"? something that I can throw in there until I can afford a new motor?? -Xoomer not xooming?
  2. Have Spark... and fuel... compression on the other hand I don't know... don't have a compression testor What about the white connector and the black connector next to the airbox? Do those have something to do with it? :banghead::banghead::banghead: this car is starting to make tit. ?!??!?! whoops.. I meant it.. not worth working on my own cars anymore for alll of the headaches..

  4. I got to thinking... I bought a used head from a board member. and its all reassembled but I can't get it to run...I was wondering if maybe the head was the wrong gen? I hear there is gen 1 2 & 3 turbo heads is there a different length of valve stem? or what? So maybe my Concusion helped me think or its just that headache... (took nasty fall in a River... on to a rock.. stupid current.) had I had a ru to cross the river this would have never happened. so any ideas? + my Daily Driver... is dying! need my XT asap.. -xoomer

If I were to order from CCR a new EA82t what kind of performance mods should I ask for/Do before installing Motor to get the most horsepower and torque for around $2000? 90hp just doesn't seem like enough... I am building this car for a unveiling by feburary.. it started as a head gasket fix... now I am fed up and planning a complete rebuild with as much hp as can be musted out of a ea82t.. any suggestions?
  6. Ive got spark.... I'm just wondering if my valves are not opening correctly due to said cam slap... because is was working ok... but now not...
  7. camslap keeping car from starting??? I put a different head on my car and used the valves and springs from that and when it turns over I hear camslap? it is not ticking it is just click click click.... anyhow... going to replace head tommorrow.... again... with different valves and springs... but I still have a no start situation... I cant get the distributor in right any one know how were to do this..... what is the best way to get it done... I want to go to the beach in my hot little car... Xoomer

I manage a dairy queen... and I was wondering I have a parking lot that on the weekends is pretty empty if we could get some of the seattle Board members... to put on a ru show... maybe 20 cars real nice subs... with a run afterwards... as I am one of 2 sube owners at my store... Maybe a 25% discount on your lunch... I don't know... I got all these parking spots and not anything to do with them.. maybe some nice sube's on a hot day could put some fun into things.??? any Ideas?? Pm me or call me.... 206.427.2645

  10. no... actually it was of the broken Lava lamp type of shop lamp... good metal frame... recessed bulb... long cord... dropped hundreds of times... and survived and this fall was only a few feet and it died... boob.. whoops BOOM... spark... glass in eyes... SH** (shows were my mind is) Xoomer

  12. Well Last night I started working on the drivers side Head... (much easier than Passenger) and discovered my problem... Head Gasket Non Existant,... all worn out worst one I have ever seen.... the rings were still intact but the actuall gasket was not... Holy Cow...! anyhow about half way through I lost my shop lamp... it commited suicide... it fell and the bulb exploded!! I emptied the A/C whoops... and I lost a rocker cover bolt... and bent my torque wrench... all is well that ends well... hope fully I will have this car back up and running by Saturday... Xoomer
  13. yah its the drivers side... getting a bit frustrated because I just did the passenger side head gasket.. new head and all...
  14. Well, After all that hard work.... either my motor is shot... or the drivers side head gasket it dead.... wow..... I cant get it to stop shooting coolant every were.... looks like it must be in bad shape... time for a rebuild.. Anyway if that is the case.. does anyone have (in seattle area) that they would be willing to loan... -Engine Stand. -Engine Hoist? I'm not giving up yet... I found a rebuildable turbo (oil pump went bad.) for 125.00 between the two I should be able to build a decent motor... JDM Motors are just out of the question currently... any other Ideas for getting a motor... or does anyone know of a wrecked or somehow unwanted turbo sub for relativly cheap?? Semper FI Xoomer

  16. She's running.... this XT's Back on the road! WOOOHoo Thank you USMB!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOOOO Nevermind.... its shooting water out of the exhaust... on passenger side... and I have a milkshake... bad intake gasket?

  19. I don't know but I am just about ready to invest in a jdm for this car... I love this car but am starting to get annoyed with it... time to break out Emergancy credit cards ... oohh the interest
  20. Why yes Sweet... I did... I also went Super Saain at it... hair went blonde and used multiple power ups and it still didn't work...!@!

  23. I starting working on my car... I got a new (not Cracked) head from Mark. XSNRG... Thanks bud... and I was putting the car back together today... and I went to put the intake back on and the bolt next to the water jacket on the intake seems to have seized..half way in.... I can't get it back out or to go in any further... anyone had this problem and can I get it out without having to take the intake out... with the head and taking it to a machine shop?? Any Suggestions? Xoomer
