The DOJ is the Inner part of the Axle. The outer being the CVJ. I don't know anything about rebuilding, I always just replace.

What all HAVE you checked? That leaves out the obvious suggestions like clean the carb, adjust timing, adjust idle, pray to satan, fuel pump, ect.

I JUST got home from changing my axle (which turned into fix the whole front end because this that and the other are also messed up) The sound you are describing is the same sound mine was making. When I pulled the axle out is was obvious that the DOJ was shot. Change the axles. =)
