  1. Looks like the two sides could be joined with bolts. Repair, or replace?
  2. Yesterday I went to do front pads, rotors and calipers on my 99 Legacy L Wagon. Aka Ruby. Driver's side went off without any problems. Went to do the passenger side and the caliper bracket bolts are so rusted that who ever tried to do them before rounded them off. And the top bolt was broken. Was wondering if the knuckle is threaded or are the threads just in the bracket? Was thinking of just cutting the bottom bolt and getting a used bracket from the junk yard and new bolts from the dealership. If anyone has had this problem and has some insight, please let me know how you fixed it. Thanks in advance everyone.
  3. All: Doing some last minute cleaning while I am waiting for final parts shipment. I am replacing clutch / seals on my 1995 Legacy Wagon / EJ22. I bought this car second hand so not sure of its history. In cleaning under the intake manifold today I found the following bracket. It was oil caked...so it has been there awhile. Any idea location / function? Thanks, Tom
  4. I came into possession of a pair of Harbor Freight Specials, they were basically free to me, and the mount I made for them actually cost slightly more! I have them mounted, but need to ground them before I try wiring them up. The only place I can see is the solid metal member/bar going through the lower part of the front bumper. I had a chat with a Subie service rep, he suggested drilling into the back of the member to screw in a place for the ground. Back or bottom, a drill is not getting into there without removing the bumper. If I removed the radiator, I could get to the back of that member, but I'm looking for any viable alternatives. The member has some half inch holes already punched in the back, maybe I could file away at one of those and get some sort of mount for the ground? Here's pictures of the ongoing project, I had sealed the glass to the cheap rubber seals with some silicone adhesive. http://postimg.org/gallery/1kzfuzjc0/
  5. Random question... Does anyone know what you would call that bracket on the side of a front seat in a first-gen Legacy with the automatic seatbelts? My bracket on the driver's side is broken, but I can't figure out the right words to search for to find a replacement. It's just right on the outside edge of the seat, right where the seat back meets the seat bottom. The lap belt runs through it (it's a flat loop-shaped plastic bracket), and when you slide the seat forwards or backwards, that loop holds on to the end of the seatbelt so that you can grab it. That's the piece I'm talking about. Thanks
