fusible links

Featured Replies

i have done research on these parts. my question would be has anyone found them online recently. i have look under two search engines and found that most of the online retailers are sold out and no idea when or if they will get more.

i called the dealer:eek::horse:dont ask if you dont already know the price........lol....... i mean really how much? i need eight of them. so i am looking $80 plus for what i need.

i asked if they could tell me the amperage of each color. their response was well we would have to call the warehouse and see if they would be willing to check and see if they could find out. i mean hello you are the dealer......

anyways after less time i spent on hold for the dealer i got the amperage info i needed on here. got to love the USMB!

Yes, USMB is Wonderful!

Also I Remember that Someone (That I Don't Remember Clearly Right Now) Posted some years ago that you can Use Real Fuses right at the Place where the Fusible Links Goes, so there is a Plastic Fuse that comes in other car's Brands, (like Corolla) that is Shaped with Female Pins and it Fit the Fusible Links Box Male Pins.

I Suggest to use the USMB Search Engine for More info.

I Hope this can Help.

Kind Regards.

I made my own from napa fusible link wire and spade connectors, should have different sizes of the wire for your application............G

a standard "J" fuse will work, like the ones in the legacy

I Do not want to Hijack the Thread, but...

You could replace them with proper amperage circuit breakers as well. That way they can just be reset.

...Let me Tell you that this is a Very intelligent Idea that I just have imagined since long time Ago... Circuit Breakers on a Car will be Nice and also they will make it easy to Diagnose & Fix any circuit trouble like overload or short circuits...

Please: Could you give more information about that? ... are there Available Breakers for 12V Car Systems?

Kind Regards.

thank you i will check into curcuit breakers. damn good idea.

They are widely used in the car audio world. You can get any size you want - manual or automatic reset. Just do a google search for the size and style you want.

Which color fusible links do you need? I can probably find them at pull a part. Cheapest source.
