January 8, 201115 yr Some Hondas use ball lugs, does anybody know if they will work with Pug alloys? They're pretty inexpensive and seem to have similar geometry: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/20-ACURA-MDX-RDX-SLX-OEM-FACTORY-STYLE-BALL-LUG-NUTS-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5ad6768314QQitemZ390145147668QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_3010wt_1165 Product Description: A set of 20 brand new chrome lug nuts for your factory Acura/Honda wheels. January 8, 201115 yr This: ... 1.50 Thread Pitch ... is the Keyword: Subarus Screws are 1.25 Pitch, so The Nuts Won't Work unless you Change the Screw too.

January 8, 201115 yr In any case they will not work - pug alloy lug nuts are not simply ball-seat lug nuts. They are special and that's why there's no simple replacement. GD
January 8, 201115 yr Author I've seen a few posts on here mentioning adapters to go from acorn to ball, are they similar to these VW adapters? http://www.jbugs.com/store/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=JBUGS&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=9508&utm_medium=shoppingengine&utm_source=googlebase&cvsfa=2714&cvsfe=2&cvsfhu=39353038 If not, where could I find some?
January 8, 201115 yr They are not similar to anything. They are unique to a pug and only a pug. There was a guy making reproduction lug nuts - a search of the forum should yeild that post. Last I heard there were sets availible - be prepared for sticker shock though. They do turn up in junk yards, etc - I just sold a set to a local guy for $50 (pretty rusty or I would have charged more). They are not easy to find but there aren't many people looking for them either. GD
January 8, 201115 yr ive used the vw adapters on two gl cars one i put over 100k on, the other about 40k they worked well, no ill affects, i got them at a vw/dune buggy shop in portland are pug nut better? prolly, did these work, yep-paid about 25 bucks for all of em
January 8, 201115 yr They might work, but it's a safety concern. They don't seat properly on the rim. The contact area of a ball adaptor is very small compared to a proper Pug lug. They aren't *that* hard to find. I would just look for a used set. GD
January 8, 201115 yr I recently bought a set of the first gen reproduction lugs from a member here that was making them and they fit perfectly. I had the VW adapters before. GD is right about the safety concern with those. The repros are WELL WORTH the money. They are perfect and the second run was even plated if I remember correctly. Just my 2 cents.
