Spare tire?

Featured Replies

Don't have a spare. What is the size that came with the car so I can pick one up at the junk yard?

What's the largest tire that can fit in the compartment?

Model 1988 Gl Station Wagon.

Just order a large pepperoni from Dominos. They will even deliver your spare!

I hear a full-size stock will fit in there with a little deflating. Dunno the specs on the original donut (mine's shredded!) but I'd think a new (to you) one might be easy to come by from a JY or member.

You should get a tire that's the same size as what you are running. Also make sure that the wheel you put it on is for an EA82 because EA81 wheels do not always clear the front brake calipers.

If you are not sure what rim (ea81 or ea82) your spare is, whenever you have a flat, put the rear good tire on the flat one, and use the spare on the rear wheel.

i also have an extra space saver spare from an ea-81, if there is a difference?, that would be yours free and i'm a little closer (edmonds) then qman.

I've got the original spare to my my '86 GL wagon 4wd if you want it........I keep a full size spare in the back instead of in the engine compartment. The original spare still holds air and as far as I know was never used by the original owner I bought the car from...........Let me know.........Chongo

I went out and checked my 82 spare.....

It was a t135 70d 15. How about that a 15" rim for subies?

Aint no way your gonna get a super swamper on that rim:banghead:

82 Hatch, transformed!

01 Forester, stock!

I got a 185/70/13 under the hood of my wagon, on a wagon wheel. Fits a little tight, but no problems.

Yep, after getting a 185/70/R13 I got it to fit under the hood. It is tight but fits!

I had tried one of my tires but I guess I traped the washer hose because it didn't fit. I also noticed there is a tie down point (fastener) in the trunk area the owner's manual tells you to use for the 185/70/R13 tires. They say in the owners manual it won't fit... Hee, hee.....

Thanks for the Beta guys.
