ernst82
The other night I was driving home and went to speed up and I did not have any power then my engine just cut off. After I was stopped I tryed starting the car a few times then it started. The next morning my car would only crank after trying for awhile it started. I let it run for awhile then turned it off and on a few times and it started each time. But today it would only crank. Any Idea's where I should start looking? My car is a 1986 xt ea82t. Thanks guys. naru
Start by making sure the fuel pump runs for a moment w/the key is turned on.
ernst82
Fuel pump is working fine, I even disconnected the fuel line from the filter and fuel came out when I cranked it over.
MilesFox
check that the timing belt did not slip of break. if the passenger side breaks, the car will run in 2 cylinders. If the driver side breaks, it will not run at all. the belt can lose a tooth, and the timing and cam would be off.
ernst82
Belts are good. Per your advice Miles, when I replaced my water pump I took the dust covers off.

Loyale 2.7 Turbo
If there's No Spark at all when Crankin' ... There's your Subie's Problem. So, I Kindly suggest to Check the Distribuitor itself for anything Loose, inside and around. Good Luck!

subarurx yo
i would try the injectors as it happend twice on me first the 2 right then left sometimes it would gain and loose power randomly until they completely quit so i got it running and unplugged injectors, one at a time listening for change in rpm and the ones with no difference were bad, i replaced them and it ran strong
Cougar
I suggest you check the compression to see if a belt slipped.
