March 20, 201214 yr its a vacuum solenoid if you follow the vacuum lines it should lead to the FPR or the EGR. i cant remember right now.. its referred to as a vacuum solenoid in my chiltons. not sure how much that will help with ordering one...but theres a whole grave yard of ea82ts in the valley.. probably a 5 dollar part. spent the last few hrs looking around and the correct name is egr vacuum solenoid.. http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sku/Hitachi/EGR_Vacuum_Solenoid/W0133-1624136.html... found one thats almost right. but thats as close as ive gotten. March 20, 201214 yr Author Thanks... I JB welded it but I'll swing by Napa to see if they have one that wont break the bank.
March 20, 201214 yr map? sensor. On a EJ, the one between the intake and top of engine is the map. look it up to see for sure. If it turns out to be MAP sensor, it is NOT a 5 dollar parts as someone has claimed. more like a 70 dollar part.

March 20, 201214 yr Author I'll check pricing for new... I'll probably give my repair a try, it's easy enough to get to if it doesn't work. Thanks for the input...
March 21, 201214 yr Author JB Weld failed... but the EGR Valve Solenoid from a BRAT also works:headbang:
March 21, 201214 yr Quick Q. Did your check engine light come on, and furthermore go out after you replaced the solenoid?
March 22, 201214 yr Quick Q. Did your check engine light come on, and furthermore go out after you replaced the solenoid? It shouldn't. I replaced mine with no further lights coming on. But it could have been the System refreshing its self, just a little glitch perhaps. If the vehicle is running fine, do not worry about it.
March 23, 201214 yr Author Quick Q. Did your check engine light come on, and furthermore go out after you replaced the solenoid? Nope... no lights. All is OK...
