I noticed that you had a set of hp coilovers on your car, just curious which car there actually meant for... wouldnt mind having a set for my wagon... thanks in advance

the coilovers were for a 99+ jetta. 450lb springs in the front, 350lb in the rear. as far as the rear goes(dont use the sping cap) you can choose not to use adj. perch as the spring is nearly the same diameter as stock.depending on how low you want it.

WARNING:to anyone using these type of sport coilovers beware. as i told shean, even though your car will not be "slammed" IT WILL ride like it!!

Hitting dips in the road really "G forces" your butt into the seat. if any of you have ridden in a slammed #onda, you know the feeling. I do not suggest this for your daily driver. But if you want to handle 10X better and can live with the ride..... GO FOR IT!

look i used bold, underline, and italic all in one post!hahahhaha

is it a straightforward install, or custom parts required?

info would be apreciated for my 4x4 scoob

wow I can imagin the ride must be really harsh. I have a 2002 jetta with coil overs here. when it was still alive rode rather stiff. thats on the jetta that weighs in a good bit heavyer than a sube.

I will have to go look at both to do a little comparo. the little tab had to be ground off right? I have been involved in the droping of three jettas now so I know what you are talking about.

you used the stock strut in the rear? sorry a little confused onthat part.

well from brads pictures it looks as if he just put the new coilovers over he stock shocks and struts. which is no problem.

you just need a spring compresser to compress the spring so you can take it off, other wise your risk taking off a arm or legg when that tension is let off that spring.

and i dont mind a harsh ride, my car is too soft for me, also, i had a lowered camaro, and trust me, i can handle the lowered ride. i like it.

the only modification was to grind the lttle disk of on the front struts...if anyone wants a second opinion P.M. harpua (donny). he drove it this past weekend.

Second opinion: Wow, i didn't know that a subaru could handle like that....Driving straight was the times you could feel the *slammed* ride, but once I got into a corner it was like heaven on wheels....

I can see why subaru_styles presents a warning. But i can see at the same time why he wanted to do the mods he has done.

There was little to no roll in the car when cornering. A world of difference from stock suspension.

From the looks of it, i will be doing similar mods, although not as extreme as subar_styles, but close none the less....I was more than impressed by these mods.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me. And thanks again styles....

what do you mean, grind the little disc off..

im sorry for sounding daft, but im interested in lowering my car and wanna make sure i get all the parts so i can just do it and have it done.

i can only wish my car will look 1/4 as good as yours does though

when you have the front struts off

you cannot slide the threaded sleeve onto the bottom perch because there's is a ring of metal that is bigger diameter than the sleeve.

that ring is right in the area of where the rod enters the strut.

not a big deal. just a little grinding
