I see them at autozone but it says its for left or right side??? Is this right? My mechanic says it looks like one mount near the rear of the transmission. So Im a little confused if these are what I need. SOOO can anyone enlighten me about the rear tranny mount and if its 2 or one mount I need... Any help would be appreciated....

Rock auto has them. I just ordered all three and they were FHI mounts. Sweet.

Can you post their part number ? You entered your info as a '79 ? I think our '77 Stage II and '78 4WD trannies use a slightly different tranny mount. I'll have to find my parts manual and check.

1040894 is what rock auto has. Should fit 78-81 brats. I haven't installed mine yet. But that's the part I ordered.

so the mount on the tranny crossmember is just one ?

Also curious as I will be replacing the ones on my 79 brat asap.

Got them off ebay cheap for like $16 a piece shipped. My mechanic replaced them with a $75 labor fee... So all done know.. Look heres one for even cheaper, $12.81 on ebay and these are the excact ones I got. You need 2 of them one for each side....

BlindSight, these are some motor mounts on eBay. I am sure you can get them elsewhere for less... Perhaps Rock Auto?

I believe the Gen 1 trans mount is the same as many of the later version/year models of FWD and 4WD cars thru like 1989.

 

Look at the Rock Auto application for the gen 1 BRAT mount.

The ad says motor mount but this it's actually a tranny mount for 2wd, i don't know if it's the same as 4wd.
