June 22, 201213 yr I have an 83 GL10 with a 1.8 pushrod engine. The carb is fubar so I am going to install a Weber. The current intake manifold is for a 1 barrel carb. I have several intake manifolds for 1.6 engines. My question is will the 1.6 manifolds fit the 1.8 engine? Thank you Jack
June 23, 201213 yr They will-but you better not want Power steering, etc. Gets crowded around the front where the thermostat housing is. I would stick with the ea81 for its simpler adapter too. Both available thru the shop-link below.

July 10, 201213 yr I vote Wentz for question of the year! Well, looks like I want an ea82 intake now for use with custom conversion on ea81 with a mitsubishi turbo and megasquirt with fuel injection. ea81-ea82 same width between the intake ports on two heads huh? Easier than building a custom aluminum intake manifold, with the coolant passages integrated with the stock manifold there.. Edited July 10, 201213 yr by TajMan
July 10, 201213 yr Yes both the EA82 carb and SPFI intakes will fit an EA81 engine. There are clearance issues around the EA81 disty with both, but they are easily worked around. I've ran an EA82 intake with Weber on 2 different EA81 engines. Currently have an EA81 in my '88 Wagon running the SPFI. Even have the EA82 poweerstering pump mounted to the EA81. Proper belt tensioner setup is still to be found for that though.
