throttle body upgrade for EA82t?

Featured Replies

Are there any other throttle bodys that will work on the turbo intake manafold like an xt6? is it bigger?

I'm just bumping this to the top, I interested in hearing someones response on this topic.

UM... with an adaptor you could use one of the 73(thereabouts)millimeter form a newer mustang, but then your maf sensor would be your bottle neck. pretty much anyting can be mad to work, with a tps, but you gotta think about the whole thing. bigger turbo, or an intercooler would do you more good than a big tb.

but to my knowledge, nothing just bolts right on.

I think a bigger throttle body(TB) would be wonderful. However, I think it will raise more issues than it will solve. I am one to believe, that its not our throttle body that is limiting, but our intake manifold.

For this reason I upgraded to the Spider intake manifold. I believe that it flows better than the old style. I've never measured, but i'd be curious as to know if the TB of the Spider Intake is larger than the old style.

I noticed terrific gains by switching to the Spider. Really helps the boost be delivered better. Seemed to have smoother throttle response. Oh, and it looks cooler!

I was just comparing a spider to a normal intake a couple of days ago.. I don't think the TB is any larger on the spider.. sure does look cooler though.

Thanks for the tidbit Caleb, save me the trouble of digging through my pile of 'ish.

New info tidbit for the turbo guys. Its said, that the biggest gains you can give a turbo is the shortest, straightest, smoothest path from the air filter, to the maf, to the turbo.

I bet it would with some work. Haven't there been other people that have put EA82 manifolds on EA81's... Like Noahdl88?

I imagine it would be the similar...

Which older generation soobs came with spider intakes as stock? (thinking about swapping mine out)
