August 9, 201213 yr So here's a heads up as to what's up. The mud pit (brought to you by Smart Service) will be open on Saturday for two 3 hour time periods, I'll be there Friday afternoon/evening with a bobcat trying to make it a bit more challenging. OK, me and Tex worked it out for the most part. After the Car Show Saturday afternoon, say about 4, I'll lead a group of folks off to Chimacum (about 20 minutes drive) to my family's property for some offroading. I only have maybe a half a mile's worth of trail, but it's some really fun stuff, set in some of the most beautiful scenery around. I have a mud hole that will probably eat your Subaru. I've winched my truck out of it more than once. Families are welcome, my wife and kids and sister and her kid will be there plus others. Should you want a quieter place to camp than the Fairgrounds on Saturday night, we have 7 acres of property and some sweet spots for tents. Or if you hang around the camp fire and drink too many to drive back to Port Townsend. . . Lemme know here or find me at the Show. Edited August 9, 201213 yr by Zap
August 14, 201213 yr Would a suby with a 4 inch lift, all terrains, no 4-low, and somewhat iffy 4-high be fine?
August 15, 201213 yr Author I've hosted Subarus there for some time. Never can tell just who's been there.

August 16, 201213 yr Author I am totally down. I have some responsibilities with the show, But I am not ************ing missing this......:cool:cheers We made a point of setting it up to conflict with as little of the WCSS as possible. You'll miss the Awards ceremony most likely, but I can also provide directions to folks who want to make it there to join us later. Basically a left at a fork, and then two right turns clearly marked roads to get there from the WCSS location. I'll be at the show with my family most of the day Saturday. August 20, 201213 yr LOL, I would have come down to have a more mellow camp spot, instead of leaving a day early so I could sleep!
August 20, 201213 yr Author Turns out the approach angles are a bit steeper than I thought. We should have some pics, I know Jessie was taking some. The winch got a work out.
