why does this head look weird to me? i cant figure it out. its off of an EA-81 motor.

Also , three of the pistons have a small hole bored in the center and one doesn't. I have never seen that before. i will post some pictures after this evening.

Head gasket is on wrong :D

Head looks normal, from what I can tell.

something with the valves. they are backwards

shoot, they sure are!

Just looked over some old photos of mine, and you are correct:burnout:

these are the twin carb heads, very nice looking as well.

could we have pictures of the inlet and exhaust as well please :)

is it number 3 piston that has no hole drilled in it?

Also, I forgot to mention, the intake and carbs are sitting on my tool box at work :headbang:

very nice, I just love those twin carb motors :)

I have been told by an engine rebuilder, that in order to stop piston slap in these motors when they are rebuilt, the biggest piston in diameter is put into cylinder 3. how true that is I don't know but he said it works.

I wouldn't mind having a set of those heads sent in my direction :D

Looking good there mate - those engines, dubbed or named an EA81S are super rare over here. Apparently they love to rev and go hard in general too. Look after it ;)

Cheers

That is awesome! thank you guys! That wiki page says this motor was available in the US? I thought they were JDM only.

Wish I could read those articals in Japanese.

Ive heard the Dual Carb motor had a bit more power and was slightly better than the turbo motor? But dont know if theres any truth to that.

The DC Ea81 RX engine is awesum. Good pulling power up hills.

E81 S ...hmmmm Hey Mark,Good to see your having fun with your E81S. We should start a gang..haha The 81 S's ?? No..... ,Mine is still chuggin along.I have asked around about someplace that could re-build mine with out any luck. I have never had any luck once I open up a hatichi.I usually just swap carbs till I find a good one..But to find 2 of them?? anyway Have fun in that Montana snow !! Happy Trails, todd

I still have a few setups laying around, just carbs and intakes/blue air cleaners. They are Jerry DeMoss's but being stored in my Attic at the moment with no plans for use at the moment either.

If i wasn't so extendent with bills etc at the moment I mite had been kean for some spares :burnout:
