Can anyone identify this front bumper?

Featured Replies

Howdy. Picked up this snazzy GL about a month ago. Wondering if anyone can identify it's bumper. Where it's from. Who made it. I've seen two other Subies here on USMB with it. My curiosity has been sparked. If you or a loved one has any information, please... do tell.

That bumper has been crossing state lines as of recently. It came from waterford wisconsin, moved to minnesota somewhere, changed hands a few times. I think this car originally came from down south. The bumper is a one-off build.

I hope this is a running and driving car instead of a passed along abandoned project as the car has changed hands so far.

i see that bumper in australian forums.... with the same lights on it...

@Miles - Wow. My friend, are you sure it's the same bumper? Like @leniac said below your post... He's seen it before. I know I've seen it before as well. I was actually looking for where I saw it earlier this morning. The gentleman I bought it from, had it for two years. The bumper was on the vehicle when he bought it... And you've seen this exact GL? I've actually seen another lifted maroon GL here in the Portland area recently... That I know wasn't this one. It's all slightly tricky. I'm simply trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together, so I can attemp to figure out where... And what this car's been through.

It is a nicely running and driving Subie.

And... With that said, I'm ready for any inconveniences that may wander my way.

Old thread is old... I don't get on much anymore but I have been poking around and came across this thread...  That bumper was one I built many a years ago, built 3 total...

What do you know about the header in the OP?

What do you know about the header in the OP?

Can't help you there...  OPs car was different than the one I owned...

The header looks like the one I have in my garage for the ej models. Mine is a borla, good header, a bit pricey these days though... I'm going to guess that the op's car has an ej22 in it from the early 90's legacies as they had dual port heads until 95 I believe.....

That's a really nice bumper; you wouldn't consider producing again, would you?

Wouldn't have a problem doing so, I just dont have a old school subaru to fab one up with...  I should have made a jig...

Would you happen to have any more pictures?

Found a few on the car...

Just realized this last one was not meant to be in the group but I'll leave it for any interested parties...

Nice metal work!!

Thanks for sharing the pictures!

I love the snub nose on these wagons. I've got the same look on mine and it's great! Reminds me of an old Audi Quattro.

Do you have to do any mods to power that many lights? I swear my piaa's blew my alternator.

Nothing beyond a simple relay setup...
