All these taters trying to wheel vicariously through us...too funny. On a side note, so glad Bret Michaels could join us for a day of wheelin. Think he will autograph a couple of pics for me?

  • Hey Nick and Marcus, are you guys still rolling open diffs? If so we need to get you welded up for walker. You at least want an Lsd. Walker is a big step up from Tahuya, there is no easy option on mos

looks done to me!

Thats gonna get borked on tree..

You'd think but I've seen lots of them like that and they are fine.

The wheel sticks out way further so you'll hit the tree with the wheel before the snorkel.

There's are two tree I like to squeeze through at our local spot down the road and I haven't hit my snorkel yet.  Tires actually drive up the base of the trees and the body drops down after so I think he's good.

right,I would accidentally bork that on a tree :)

I think you mean stump.

my snorkel is the least of my worries, its my first real wheeling tripso I think some body damage is on the menu while I become spatially aware..

I'm not too concerned about hitting it on a tree. But I guess the 26th will be the judge of that.

Ah the joys of learning a new vehicle on unfamilar terrain.

Jeff... what was the trail we came down the last time near the end?  Need to do that one again...  More fun than Ron's Run.

Upper Mainline?

you can run open but you'll end up beating your car pretty bad doing it.

Jeff

Yeah Jeff is right.  I had a hard time on one of the short connector trails with a broken diff stub.  Weld up and it will make the trip that much more fun.  Instead of stuff like this.

Get a spare and weld it up, then you can just swap them out when you get to the trail

That or weld it up and pull an axle for street driving. You can drive on the street with it welded and both axles in but it stresses parts a bit more than they should. Gloyale believes that driving on the street with a welded rear diff and both axles in results in a stub axle breaking on the trail.

Iv run a welded diff befor with axels in just wasnt my cup o tea... i didnt wanna buy a spare diff unlrss it was a good lsd so i could do that but its proving hard to find one... trying to put money in where counts.. rear sub needs reinforced front blocks need reinforced... no skid plate... the list just gets longer... im not sure ima make this one im not tryin to trash the car on purpose cuz i wasnt ready for somthin... but dont get me wrong i wanna go.

I'll start looking for a spare diff to weld up. Anyone got an extra I can buy? I'm more concerned about my tires.

Your tires should be fine for Walker.
