lscottw
I have a recently bought 2006 Subaru Impreza and today it started leaking a thick green slime like fluid around the CV boot. Also, it is a manual and when the clutch is disengaged there is a screeching metal grinding sound that just started since I noticed the leak. Fairtax4me
I guess CV boot grease could have a greenish tint, It's usually black or very dark grey color. Can you tell of the screechy sound is coming from the axle? Screechy sound occurs when clutch disengaged (pedal down) would be the release bearing.
lscottw
I cant tell where the screech is coming from but I have heard from multiple people that it could be the throw out bearing
Rooster2
may be two separate issues. Clutches don't throw any greem slime ever...........so maybe clutch problems...........how does it drive?? Only thing green I can think of is antifreeze, but it is never thick. CV joint is always black stinky grease found under the car.
