Last time I was on this site (I admit, it's been awhile) I read something about somebody looking I to a carb swap for an EJ motor... Anyone actually do this yet? I prefer carbs over F.I. Just because they are easier for me to fiddle with, and while the EA series is bomb proof, there is next to no aftermarket for them.. I happen to enjoy my lightweight flywheels, 4.44 gears, EJ AWD, aftermarket cams, but I prefer the look of the 80's subarus, always have....

There was also a factory Carb'd EJ sold I believe in the Latin American markets.  There are images of them around...

 

Another guy in/near Perth, Australia built his own one too using a fiori or ford escort dizzy and I think a weber carb.  Probably the same as monstaru's build...

Yes, the LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) Got Carb + Disty EJ engines.

So put your shopping orders in with Mr Jeszek via PM , and you will likely get a reply that they may have been LADM items, but are rare as hens teeth and rocking horse poo and due to an exchange rate likely sell for three times the price anyone is willing to pay - should they ever come up for sale

Despite that Subaru sold four versions of the EJ with Distribuitor & Carburator in LADM, it became very hard to obtain replacement parts; I obtained one and sent it to USA to a Great Friend; please see the many Photos, Video and also you can download FSM scans for the Original Subaru Books, with part numbers, etc... at this Thread:
