Factory EA82 15" 4x140 Rims for Cheap available everywhere (probably)

The spare rim is stamped with a "T" code for temporary just like the tire.

I don't think the quality of steel is the problem. It's the. Ousting of a wide tire on such a narrow rim. Too much sidewall bubble. Very prone to riding on the sidewall or even rolling the bead in hard corners.

Might work fine for deep snow, backwoods slow driving.....other than that is takin too big a risk on roads where other people are driving.

As mentioned, insurance would not cover the accident and in a worst case if you kill someone in an accident, knowingly installed these wheels and used them in the course of such tragedy, you could be held for manslaughter or even negligent homicide.

We can all speculate and make our own assessments. I think it's unwise, myself. Here's three thing though; none of us can say with 100 percent assurance one way or the other. Original poster has touched on an interesting idea here, especially if the rim dimensions and safety beads are there and similar to a regular rim.

Yes, none of us.

But the Department of Transportation, Can.

And in fact they prohibited the use of such thin and narrow wheels on regular basis, for a Reason.

Kind Regards.

OT: Am I the only one staring at this left hand gas door??

Ok I could not get a clear look at the pic!

I tired this with the 14in steel spares but our tire machine couldn't pull the temporary tire off the rim.

Cut it off.
