Cheap Tricks?

Featured Replies

I tried starting a thread asking about any useful mods, but most of the feedback required money. Does ANYONE know any good and effective cheap tricks to boost the performance of my '87 GL carb? I dont care if its illegal (that would actually make it a bit more fun:brow: ) but some feedback would be much appreciated.

youre gonna have to explain all of what you just said... im a newbie to this kinda stuff:-\

Then may I suggest buying a manual first? Get to know your car better, sometimes you cant get real personal info of your car from the internet. The search function works quite well also if you use the right key words.

Talk to SubaruJunkie. I believe on his website he had some step instructions, or at least an explanation of doing the ol' "Secondary Venturi Trick". Where you make a wire to hold this piece on the primary throttle plate assembly, to the arm on the Secondary throttle plate, opening the secondary venturi earlier at persay 1/3 throttle, rather than almost WOT. Makes the car hard to pass smog, but it gives it a little kick in the accleleration.

how much does that mess with gas mileage?
