Won't restart when warm

Featured Replies

91 loyale wagon runs and starts first time. After driving for 10 minutes turn off won't restart. Turns over, have spark, have fuel. Checked all plugs and fuses. Let it sit for a couple of hours and no problem restarts and drives fine.

I googled this:

subaru won't restart when warm

found a lot of similar discussions.  Many point to the sensors.  You might recognize some of their symptoms to help narrow it down.

been struggling w/ the same issue.  have replaced everything except the distributor.   Funny it is not a problem in the winter, only in the summer.

The distributor gets hot and stops working best I can tell. I blasted mine with a freezing spray when it was hot and wouldn't start. Fired right up when its cooled down

Replaced distributor last month, replaced coolant temp sensor. Still no restart when hot

just for thought i was having the same problem. It would run great until it warmed up. There is a thermo valve inside the air filter housing . When it opened up i had a huge vacuum leak. plugged it up no more problems. Should be on the drivers side of the housing

Coolant temp sensor went out on my sisters ej22, did the same thing you're describing.
