Spider Intakes, whats the difference

Featured Replies

ok what is the difference between the turbo and non turbo spider intakes?

ive got a N/A one and wanted to put it onto my new coupe.

Thanks,

Shean

there is a hose coming out of the thermostat housing that feeds into the turbo, and there is no egr on the turbo spyder intake, thats about it....

There is an EGR on the turbo spider intake because I have one sitting next to me :) . There is no EGR on the NA spider intake. I think fuel injectors are different too. Not sure about the thermosensor. The 2 large main wire harness connectors are different to me thinks.

wait, what R U guys talking about? I thought only N/A XT's had the spyder intake, and all the turbos had the normal dual port manifold?

The N/A intake has no tube for the cooling of the turbo. It has to be drilled and tapped and a line ran to it. The EGR is another, but I'm not sure yet what needs to be done with that. Also, the wiring for the TPS is a little different and needs to have a wire or two spliced. SubaruTex has done the transplant, and the install should be in the archives (search).

This is the first I've heard anything about the injectors being different yet, but they are both MPFI.

87.5 XT turbo had a spyder on it.. theres one sitting not too far from here waiting for a home:)
