December 2, 20169 yr I have a 93 Legacy LS Wagon, and the release button is gone from the E-Brake Handle..... anyone have some diagrams on how it all works? so I can see what all I need to replace.... The car is really clean, original paint, with really nice interior.....would like to fix this little issue Thanks for any help....
December 2, 20169 yr Here's the Subaru parts diagram for the handle...as helpful as it is. Subaru does not offer parts for he button, just the entire handle. I grabbed one part number at random, and it's $100, and still available.
December 2, 20169 yr Author Thanks, yeah, that isn't very clear on the workings of the handle for sure.... but thanks for the info....I Might mess with it some and try to figure out a fix for it...
December 2, 20169 yr Wow, that wagon looks nice! Did you buy it used? How many miles on it? For a brake handle, try a Pull n' Pay yard. Or try online used parts sites. Good luck.

I bought it used for a spare car for my daughter while her car was down with a bad transmission....it is really nice for a 93, original paint, and clean inside, has 168k on it, and seems to have been well maintained. I actually have it up for sale, as it isn't needed anymore..... http://lexington.craigslist.org/cto/5901070381.html
December 2, 20169 yr I may be imagining it, but I seem to recall someone creating a button from a ball-point pen cap?
December 2, 20169 yr HAH! I did find this, 11 years old and I replied for them to ask here! (I guess it was a wire nut and not a pen cap? lol!) http://www.motorsforum.com/subaru/subaru-parking-brake-button-repair-13904-.htm and drilling into the old link also finds this; https://morris.cloud/subaru-outback-handbrake-button-repair/ Edited December 2, 20169 yr by 1 Lucky Texan
