Beck/Arnley Timing Belt

Featured Replies

Bought the Beck/Arnley belt for my 99 OBW. No manufacturer name on belt, just says it was manufactured in Thailand. Belt was bought thru Advance Auto Parts. List price was $103, but with coupon cost down to around $74. A/A on line part description said belt is highly saturated nitrite (HSN). I guess the HSN is desirable, but who knows if any automotive part mfg in Thailand is good. I bought on reputation of B/A selling quality parts. I hope they don't let me down.

you are gonna replace idlers and tensioner too right?

anyway, from what I have been reading lately, I'd get Mitsuboshi or OEM I think.

got my WRX kit from mizumoauto on ebay.

Sorry to say but anything from that mizmo-crap seller on eBay is lesser quality.

Since the 70''s we've used Beck Arnley parts when original were not available or to get decent parts that actually fit correctly on our Subarus.

Gates would have been another good choice for belts or the combo kit.

And Thailand because that's the rubber production center of the universe.

On Interference engines, I take no chances. Oem belt and all idlers and tensioner.

All idlers and tensioners were replaced not all that long ago, less then 40K miles, so I will stick with them. I will just have the belt replaced at this time.

Keep your ears tuned for any squealing noise as time goes on. I've done what you are doing and ignored a squeal. Then the pulley exploded and it was ugly. And I was pissed.

Best of luck.
