Looking for good lift/tire combinations on 1st gen forester

Featured Replies

Hello all, new to the forum here. I have recently purchased a 2000 Forester and I am looking for advice on good lift/tire combinations. I really like the look of a lifted forester, but would like somewhere to start. I have looked on other postings but all of the images are no longer available. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

My wife has a '99 and we just fitted 215/65/16 tires (stock is 215/60/16, IIRC), and the spare just barely fits in the trunk well, if you deflate the tire completely.

I'm not really sure. Do you have images of what a 2 vs 4 inch looks like?

Really just wanting to be able to fit some bigger tires in there and gain a little ground clearance. Nothing crazy as it will still be my daily driver.

Looks nice. What kind of wheels and tires do you recommend running on a 2" lift? I've read that you can either go with wheel spacers or offset wheels to clear the strut perch.

with your Forester you can go upto 29" tires , the spacing is not needed that would be for a Impreza or non outback legacy 215/75-15 is about 27" that's good with a 2" lift
