Legacy AC schrader valves (Charging valves)

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where I can locate the correct schrader valves for a 1991 Legacy's AC service valves?

There are actually 2 valves in the low side service port. I have a continuing leak from this port. I cannot locate any part #s for these.

 Thoughts?

 Thanks Todd

Not sure on the shaders themselves - you are talking about the valve core yes?

You can bypass this situation quickly and easily by installing R134 retrofit valves. You just screw them onto the existing R12 fittings after you remove the old valve cores. Then you just use R134 hoses for charging with your choice of refrigerant.

Unfortunately, I've taken them into the store and matched them up. Tried to find them and start a thread about part numbers for them, but never got any traction.

Napa usually has a selection of various AC service valves.

R-134 adapters are also an easy fix.

GD  you are absolutely correct!  I'm so used to 134A cars that I forgot this was converted. That is why there are 2 schraders, one original and one in the conversion valve. I will replace the conversion valves. Time will tell!
