PCV Hose Replacement

Featured Replies

I broke one of the brittle pcv hoses on my 1993 Loyale, what kind of hose can I use to replace it?

I've tried looking it up and MOST people have stated heater hose is fine. Also the pcv hose is a 5/8 ID, correct?

Heater hose may not stand up to the oil well.

Would transmission cooling hose be a better option?

seen people make pipes from copper and brass fittings and tube for these and coolant hoses. Std heater hose does the job, but starts to swell up and go all sloppy, soft after maybe a year. Hose supplier specialists can supply oil resistnatnt hose for this sort of thing. I get it for turbo drain back. Hate it when I see heater hose here !

I failed smog because of the regular hoses.

Get ones from the dealer.  That was the only source I was able to find.

Good luck,

Sam

It won't.  Will get soft and will seep oil through the hose.

You need 5/8th evap rated hose.

They can't fail you just because it's not the right shape.  If it's proper rated EVAP hose, it will be acceptable.

Besides, Dealer support for EA cars is 99% gone.

where do we get this 5/8" evap hose?   Anyone know?

I buy it at Napa
