Recommendations on aftermarket MAF sensor

Featured Replies

My local junkyard doesn't have any compatible MAF sensors for my 1999 legacy, so I was thinking about just ordering an aftermarket sensor. There is a huge range in prices in these parts. Does anyone recommend a particular brand as a good value?

Have you tried cleaning the MAF?

I would only buy an OEM MAF sensor, the aftermarket ones just aren't worth the savings, but then again, I pretty much only have turbo'd Subarus.

i certainly wouldn't pay much for an aftermarket one if you end up going that route.  make sure it's the right one - it's easy to screw up part compatability/interchangeability on a 1999 Subaru.

OEM fail so rarely that a used one for a few bucks isn't a bad idea.  that's what I'd do.

And '99 Legacy could have two kinds...2.2 or 2.5? 2.5 is the same Green Label JECs/AUTECS MAF used on Subarus from '92-'98/'99.

But yeah, the '99 2.2 was a unique year....did you  look @ Foresters (2.5 but phase 2 electronics) and Imprezas?
