Brake calipers 2003 Legacy L vs GT

Featured Replies

Pardon my ignorance and lack of having my two cars to review.

My soon to be daily driver 2003 Legacy wagon which I think is an L or an LS model is with Subafreak upstate. Same for the parts car 2003 GT sedan.

At this moment the great one , Subafreak isn’t too sure and I’d rather bother you guys than bother him. But are those calipers the same ?

And yeah just because he isn’t sure doesn’t mean he isn’t the great one. Lol

No - the GT would have the Outback calipers, which got larger in 03/04 and required 16" wheels IIRC. They will work but require a larger rotor and possibly a different pad.

And for the record. He may be the great one.... but only if The King proclaims it. And that's me.

you can look up them up on a subaru part side and click "what this part fits" and it shows all the years/models.  this is good to know since you may also want to cross reference rotors, pads, caliper brackets, etc.

Thanks all ! I think I’ll keep the wagon stock unless the great one declares the swap can be done cost effective to my budget. I don’t have the space to do this and getting too old.
