$20 windshield moldings

Featured Replies

I was ordering a windshield molding set for my new windshield. JEGs has them for $18.99? The normal list price is over $100! I ordered 2 of them just to have a spare at that price.

Update:

Got them in and they look great. Definitely the right part.

Chrome: Precision WKT 499 C

Black: Precision WKT 499 B

Listed Applications:

  • 1985 - 1989 Subaru - DL
  • 1985 - 1989 Subaru - GL
  • 1990 - 1994 Subaru - Loyale

I’ll be curious if they arrive, let us know. Jegs has listed things for sale and cancelled the sale after they realize they can’t get it or didn’t have it.  Where did you get your glass? My brat needs a new windscreen.

If they shipped something things are looking good! I feel the need to hoard parts because they are so seldom available, I’ll probably get a set

Look for rust in the frame around the bottom of the windshield, once you remove it.  You may need body work.

Out here i the rust belt.....

around the front window was always the first place to rot out... on the Loyales.....

I have had to do major work around the window posts..... major job.....

and window replacement.....(which it is always nice to look out a brand new piece of glass.....

When it came to replacing that window trim......(and it's crazy expensive cost).....

I resorted to this:    Which simply is.....  after window is in place.  I cut  another tube of window urethane  such that

it will give me the size bead... (to fill in completely to the window post and such all the way around....

Keep in mind you are trying to make it look nice.....   keeping in the spirit with the name....... "Window weld"

And   making it look like it is a weld bead......... keep moving with it.... and you can't clean it ... or touch it......

I used to be able to get this to look pretty nice..........  even on a white car it would look good......

I think I had to do about five windshields...... in those cars..........   one of then I did twice.......(had the car so freakin' long.... needed another one)

MIcky

I ordered the black items but got an email from jegs telling me they were NLA.

I ordered these a couple of months back, bought two.  Arrived pretty quick.

We’re they the chrome ones? They maybe still have these.

Dang. I got excited when I found this thread but no go for the wkt 499 trim pieces at Jegs anymore.

Has anyone replaced a windshield and found these moldings lately? In black or chrome?
