Begonia9 Posted July 23, 2004 Share Posted July 23, 2004 My left headlight went out recently in my 86 subaru GL wagon. I repleaced the bulb thinking that was the problem. I worked for like a day and then quite. Now occasionally when I turn my headlights on the left head light will flash on for a second. Anyone know where the switch is for this or any suggestions???? nutt7 Posted July 23, 2004 Share Posted July 23, 2004 check the plug for the bulb...clean it if there are signs of corrosion. or follow the wires and check for obvious damage. check for a good voltage signal with a meter if you have one. sometimes you just have to wiggle the wires around and see if the light turns on...then you know where the problem is...hope this helps eric Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
MorganM Posted July 23, 2004 Share Posted July 23, 2004 How much water and condensation is up in that head light? Those bulb sockets are wide open electrical connections. A lot of times water gets built up in there and can short out the bulb socket. Typical fix is to just replace the headlamp assembly with one that has a good seal and no water gets in Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
