YES YES World USMB meet in NZ

Featured Replies

Oh baby yes yes yes come over here for your meet.Come to the lower part of the south Island which has the largest Sub population in NZ.To the USMB Please consider this as an option.I would do all the leg work and organising from this end.Sorry I can't supply a 747,I just sold it last week.It didn't have horizontally opposed engines.WOW what a thought and it wasn't mine.It was some one on the board.Great Idea to you know who.Look forward to meeting you USMB members. It might be possible to get some sponsership from automotive companies over here and Subaru of NZ might come to the party with some funds as well. There is always a way of getting some financial assistance if you put the effort into it.Not this year but maybe 2005 or 2006.

Regards Kevin.

how bout next year? give us all a bit of time to save up some $$$ for the flight.

I did north island this last year and I really want to see the south island.(no not because of lord of the rings)

I'd agree that NZ would be a great place to visit. however, it wouldn't be much of a Subaru meet with out any of our Subbies. Logisticaly, it would be next to imposible to get many people, not to mention their cars, to NZ. If we ever do decide to go there on holiday, you'll be the fist person we look up!!! Cheers, Tim

Well,it looks like I've stirred the hive again....sorry guys,it was MY idea...yup,my BIG mouth again....And Rob wants me to cover transportation....hmmmm,I can start stealing boats now and get them all going towards San Diego. We sail the Pacific at noon May 1st 2005!!!!!!That should get us there by July or so....

OK,well it was funny for a minute.....

Seriously,I know NZ would be an outstanding destination with or without cars involved. But I think the numbers are here and besides, aren't you all wealthy in NZ?You guys can ship your rides here. We'll gladly escort you upon arrival to the big show.Just kidding....again.

Please, take lots of pictures and send them along.Show those old Subarus that have rotted away, for the most part, here. For now I think that's about the best we can do.

Now,should we ever get Subaru involved...they could supply a limited amount of cars to use, help with some sponsoring,etc....

Is anyone familiar with Ducati Days? It's a big annual event. You can go ride in Italy, provided you're a registered Duc owner. You pay a fee of course but it's a great package. You can send your bike as well but for folks on our budgets I think paying the fee and beating someone else's ride is king.

Subaru would offer trips to the factory...so to add NZ,just a few hundred bucks more I'd think. But most of us have only spent a few hundred bucks on our rides.....hmmm,gotta go sharpen that pencil.

You wouldnt have to bring your cars just heaps of photo's and videos of your subs.I know its a long shot but just think how good it would be.I would organise a bus tour to subaru collectors and peoples back yards to see what they have.By the sounds of things we have more older models left for you to see.And I am sure that sponsership can be arranged.Even if you only send a small committee over to have a look get some photo's and then report what they saw to other members when they get back. And who said we had plenty of money!.It costs more from here to go there because of the exchange rate. How many other Kiwis are members of USMB if there is enough and we contact each other we may be able to arrange a trip.As it is I might be traveling alone.if there is no one else overhere.Paul I wasn't going to give your name as I didn't want you to get into to much !@%$#&*#$.

No biggie, they already hate to love me or love to hate me.

Do it, you yanks have plenty of money(no offence I hope to the term yanks if so let me know)

Go Yanks!!!!

Sorry, but I gave all my money to everything/everybody TV told me to....that's what Americans do.:-\

Actually most of us are working class dogs on this board.A couple of nuclear scientists but they don't mix too much with the gang.

I'm in for 2006. Seriously, if anyone else can do it...it's never too early to start planning. I'd love to go back.

My home is yours if you make it over.

Yes Paul, most of us luv ya :D Have some wild ideas sometimes, but what the heck, it keeps things hopping here.

If I was younger, wasnt married with 2 kids, I would probably hop on a ship and work my way over there. Stay for a while and maybe work a little here and there, enjoying the country and see as many Subaru's as possible.

Now whos dreaming :brow:

If I was younger, wasnt married with 2 kids,...etc

My sentiments exactly.

NZ is truely one destination I'd like to arrive at someday. After hearing all the vintage Subaru talk I'm even more intrigued.

I was just there and I am willing to go back again. ok I will have to convince the wife about this plan (she was not impressed with your snow fields last year) .

I think I can work on it. puting coins in the piggy bank.
