January 8, 200521 yr I am highly considering putting and ej22 and 5speed awd swap into my 84 Brat. It curently already has a 3" lift installed. and some other minor mods, but nothing big. I was thinking of picking up a whole car(legacy early 90's awd) for the swap. What all is involved and is it a major pain? Let me know. Thanks Ken

January 11, 200521 yr Instead of the awd, why not a 5spd d/r? Mudrat makes a conversion kit for that.

January 13, 200521 yr john is a busy man, after all he does alot of work on subies to make a living, it may take him some time to answer your questions, or ask me, and ill give ya some pointers. But i have no experience with EJ22's going into brats, so all my info will be from what ive been told or read from this board, and searches of course.
January 13, 200521 yr a whole car would be a cool idea, but all you realy need is the engine, harness, and the computer. that leaves a whole lotta legacy to get rid of.
January 17, 200521 yr Author Well, I'm on my way to almost double the horsepower!!! I Talked to John and I'm having him do the swap. He has found a motor and I paypaled him the money for that. Oh how sweet my brat will be when finished. Hopefully early March. Anyways, I will keep you posted. Ken:D
January 17, 200521 yr if you use a dual range you can keep the rear diff and tranny mount, and also your axle s will fit. if you use the awd you would have to make a tranny mount, and also either modify the suspension to use ea82 parts and 25spline turbo axles, or have a custom ea81 axle with 25 spline doj
