March 21, 200521 yr Was talking to a dude at Advance about eventually enlargening my exhaust system a bit and he comes up with this suggestion: Give the Turbo a whole 'nother exhaust pipe, somewhere around 1.5". I'm trying to figure out if this would be beneficial in any way, but I'm no expert. This sound like something that would make sense to do?

March 21, 200521 yr thats gotta be it, its cool as hell, as long as you have a boost controller. then it only gets loud when you hit full boost. without a boost controller, you start shooting very loud exhaust at about 2 lbs of boost pressure. unless you put a muffler on it, but whats the fun in that? =]
March 21, 200521 yr Yes it is for the waste gate but nothing else is needed. All our turbos have a waste gate, it's bypass can cause restriction in the form of tubulance. The second tube enters the downpipe down steam to avoid tubulance at the mouth. The one I make looks like this. This prototype was stick welded they are MIG welded now
March 22, 200521 yr Skip. My RX needs one of dem too. Let us know if your in business to sell one. I may need mine welded for a VF11. As far as running a seperate muffler, i dont see how it would be any more benefitial than something like Skip has there. Maybe increase the pipe to 2.75 or 3" where the two meet. If you were going to run 1.75" from the wastegate, then I would look for a small muffler from a lawnmower or maybe contact FHI and get a muffler from their Robin Generators. -Brian
