Old lifted brat pics

Featured Replies

These are pics of my partner's , she thinks 1981 brat. She bought it new before she got out of high school and got the lift and the rims. Don't ask, she has no idea over 20 years later about details.

And no that isn't me in the back as we have only been together about 7 years.

Enjoy.

Those wheels are SICK!!! Its cool to know that lifts were avalible back in the day. Now to find a set of them rims!

Very cool indeed! I don't know that I have seen an early model Brat like that lifted before. It is neat that they had lifts back then. Cool rims too.

Dooooooode!!!! Sweeeeeeeet!!!

how come nobody has mentioned a lift, much less one from way back when? and for gen1s?

and those wheels look familiar.. someone on here has those.. but who i wonder?

Brian,

She no longer has the vehicule, sold in '84 for an '85 Blazer.

So this would have been in 1985 or so...?

I had no idea folks were messing with Subs back then?

I have always wondered who or when the first Subie was lifted

The Wheels were known as "Turbines". Never seen that design in a 4X140

Whoever did it, did a real nice job, I love the fender flares.

Great pics, Thanks for sharing

Nothing special about the flares :) That is a pretty truck, too bad she cant remember who lifted it. To my knowledge gen1's are pretty hard to lift.

nice i didn't know they lifted them back then

Back in '80 or so, one of the 4x4 mags did a project car with a gen 1 wagon. I believe they did some sort of a lift, bigger tires, winch, and maybe a d/r swap? Can't quite remember, and the copy of one of the articles I had went missing.

She got the lift and tires in about 82. She says that she had a hard time finding a place that would do it (Denver area) and the name is lost in wine, I mean time :).

I thought you were refering to the turbine style wheels that fit subaru. These are the ones I have:
