OK, Heres the deal.... I own a 85/86 GL wagon,, well the tranny went KAPLUWEE!, so I am buying a 87 GL-10. I was hoping to use my old GL wagon for parts. However some have said that the the two are not the same , Can you all point out some of the differeances you know of?

the turbo engines have a diffrent final ratio, and you never said if it was automatic, or 2wd, or dual range or anything.

Yeah, you gotta tell us what is what. What does the GL have and what does the GL-10 have. The GL-10 might have a different spline count on the inner CV(Double offset joint) than the GL. Because it is a turbo. Someone will explain better than me. But interior stuff like seats and console will swpa with no prob. So i think the major differences with the GL-10 is Turbo'd, it may have air stuts (tend to be a bad thing, but you can swap your GL's struts into, with little mod'ing, if any). More specific info, will get ya more specific answers .

Back to the topic. The above linked post will give you most of your answers. I have some brochures for '85, '86 and '87. I'll try to dig 'em out and let you know the differences. I believe I put a post in the other thread with imput from the brochure also.

I beleive it's just a different trim level. usually associated with things like turbos, digidashes, sunroofs, FT4WD.......but not necessarily

Short answer: it depends on the engine and transmission. suspension may be air suspension on the GL-10. interior trim and such is fancier on the GL-10, digital dash etc.. apart from that it's a perfect parts car.
